“A home away from home!”
Reviewed June 8, 2011

Indeed a home away from home. We found ourselves lucky having chosen this accomodation. The islanders are very friendly people you can ever meet in your life. The breakfast is very basic, the location is spot on, and the sun is always shining in Tinos hopefully it will keep us warm until we re back next year!

The Vincenzo Family does everything right. We saw several rooms, they are all beautiful. For a very reasonable price we got large room with kitchenette, our own bathroom and a small terrace. The room had exposed stonework, a huge queen bed and was very well decorated.
We spent two weeks in the Greek Islands and this was by far the best place we stayed. We were pleasantly surprised with both outdoor spaces and small pool. Most notably, we were astounded by the hospitality and amazing service we received. It was like a we ourselves were family. The staff goes out of its way to assist in any way it can. The hotel is spotless and rooms are refreshed seemingly every time you leave. There is even a turn down service in the evening. Breakfast was tasty with more than enough food. The Greek coffee was the best we had on our trip.
We would return to Tinos just to visit this hotel.

The hotel is situated in a quite area, very close to the center. Excelent stuff, spacious rooms, home made breakfast, differs from day to day. You can have your lunch and dinner inside your room or in the garden. Room service 2 times every day, even at the departure's day. The filosophy is to feel rather being at your home, or by friends, than in a hotel. It's a pity that we live so far away from Tinos...

We are a couple from Cyprus visited Vincenzo Hotel during Easter holidays. We were impressed by the hospitality of the owners, their happy and genuine faces and their willingness to maintain us satisfied. First of all, they drove us from the port to the Medical Centre (visited due to medical reason) and then to the Hotel. As far as the room was concerned, it was a very clean and tidy place, stylish decorated and every time we would go out and come back, everything was in order. Definately a great choice of place to stay if someone visits Tinos!

Room Tip: Convenient location

If you are looking for hotel luxuries, this is not the place for you. The rooms are basic but never stayed in a hotel where the rooms were so spotlessly cleaned. The staff were excellent, very welcoming, very gay friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. They took time to point out places of interest on the map, provided by the hotel. Breakfast consists of boiled egg, very good Greek yoghurt, breads, honey, no heart attack fried foods. and it is a must to have the Greek coffee. Remarkably good breakfast and healthy. By the time you get back to your room, it has been scrubbed clean with new towels. When you return at night, your bedroom and balcony light is switched on, a battery candle is left on your balcony table and two chocolates left on the pillow. We were really looked after here with REAL personal service, which makes all the difference.
Tinos is an exceptional island and the people are so friendly everywhere you go. It felt very safe and the food was half the price than Mykonos or Athens. It is a must to walk in the hills and visit the small family village cafes. Typical Greek welcome and they love it if you at least attempt to speak a little Greek. The family run taverna Aithrio in the little square just before you get to the bars was excellent with fresh Greek food. The more visits you make to this taverna you can guarantee a free large glass of Retsina or brandy, and a speciality starter. Tinos is a must.

We chose this after reading the website. Yes our room was small and basic - but clean and the beds were comfortable. Some people seem to complain about everything - the price is low so if you want luxury, go and find somewhere expensive.
The service is the best - we thought for some reason we were given special treatment, but no, other reviews show that this is normal.
Breakfast - substantial and very good.
Bowl of fruit in the room and bed turn down. (haven't had that in a long time) Every time we came back, the room had been cleaned and fresh towels put in.
Complimentary late checkout to align with ferry - free pickup and delivery too.
Close to town. Arranged Rental car - provided to the door.
Noise? - one night we heard some guests arriving and talking - so what, it wasn't the middle of the night!
We enjoyed our short stay - for longer, a bit more space would be good, but we think it was good value.

What would be your expectations of residence when visiting a small Greek Island like Tinos?
1. A quiet hotel in a hot-spot (close to harbor, cafe/restaurants in walking distance)
2. A very attentive personnel, a high quality service provider
3. Fair/very good prices compared to amenities provided (quality of room, breakfast, room cleaning EVERY TIME you leave it, treating you as a VIP)
4. Jacuzzi in rooms (studios), jacuzzi in the garden accessed by all clients, beautiful gardens
5. Truthful (website, personnel behavior)
6. Small but hand-made breakfast of high quality
All the above and more, you will find ONLY in Vincenzo Family Hotel!!!

Four grade for Location, because there is no terrace view to the harbor, four grade for Sleep Quality because i like hard mattresses and our room had a soft one (everything else, size, cleanness, etc were excellent). This review applies to the Studio room we stayed.

All negative reviews about this hotel (i read them carefully) are 100% attributed to the mismatch of reviewers' expectations with reality!!! Expectations should be based on real terms. Vincenzo Family Hotel meets the standard!

If you want to pay 200 EURO per night, to be treated impersonal, to be wowed by luxurious amenities for which you have to pay more and more and more, this small hotel is not for you - Go to places that will rip you off.

If you want a value-for-money cosy small hotel, with the treatment of a VIP and being satisfied for paying much less for what you got, Vincenzo Family Hotel is YOUR BEST CHOICE...
