A very good Taverna-like restaurant within Tinos.
Highly recommended for very good traditional/island Greek cuisine. One can visit it on an everyday basis. Outside sitting area is very pleasant both for lunch and for dinner.
All plates are very good (try for example barbecued octapus or aubergine salad), and the service is first class. One can have a very rich meal with around €12-15 with house wine.

We found this gem by accident and couldn’t have been more pleased. The food was of the freshest quality. We had several appetisers and two main courses and there was nothing we did not like and was good value for money. The menu was in a few languages however not really a tourist restaurant as mainly Greek patrons, with enough English spoken for us to order what we wanted. We finished the meal with a complimentary Ouzo and dessert and the staff were so nice they gave us free tour books and a Tinos map when we said we were exploring their island.

The restaurant is located in Taxiarchon Square just along from the port, look for the dolphin sculpture the restaurant is on the left. The lettering is in cursive Greek so looks different from the English translation of the name.

Two years on since our last visit to Tinos, would this Taverna be any different to last time? Certainlythe staff hadn't changed, we recognised most of the faces, but then it's probably a family concern anyway. The menues had been given a facelift but still included all the great (vegetarian) dishes that we we loved last time.
We ate here on two occasions during our stay on Tinos and between the two visits we had Imam, Giant Beans, Courgette Balls, Tomato Balls, Saganaki 4 Cheese, Saganaki (one) Cheese, grilled aubergine and grilled courgette. All of the dishes were superb, Greek vegetarian mezze staples well prepared and well presented. The Saganaki 4 Cheese deserves particular mention, though is perhaps best avoided if you're on a diet!
We keep details of all our holidays and on this visit we duplicated (almost identically) one of the meals - the difference being we had a litre of wine in place of the water of our previous visit. The bill was 4 euro cheaper than last time.
In general, the cost of 1 "In Oil" dish and 3 "Mezze" dishes, plus drinks (water or wine) was about 28 euro, a bargain given the quality of food, setting and service. As at most places the meal included free bread and starter dip (smoked aurbergine in our case), free dessert (on one occasion THE most delicious lemon tart ever!) and free drink of Mastici to wash it all down.
As usual no English voices were heard, though on one visit there was a wonderful Finnish choir who gave an impromptu performance of what I believe was a pre-meal Grace.
