“Well worth a visit”

Very informative and well worth a visit. Entry into the museum is very reasonable at 5 euros per adult and it's very well laid out. Everything in the museum is itemised in a little pamphlet which is given to everyone on entry. An explanation is provided so that you can understand exactly what you are looking at. There's also a very interesting DVD on Crete and the making of the museum, which at 1 euro is well worth seeing before you look around.

“Traditional village life museum”
Reviewed May 18, 2013

If you are in the area (Chersonisos) then I would recommend a visit. It's not very big but nicely arranged and worth the visit. It gives you a good glimpse of the old time rural life in Crete.

They have a small cafe on site as well and although we did not use the audio guides they are available as well as the maps.

The lady who welcomed us was very friendly. Enjoyed it very much.

It is worth seing! Watching video (part B) on the history of the museum I was crying. It is not boring, it is made with love. It is not artificial, it is real life.

I liked very much the museum. It shows the rural life of cretan peasents. Many trees and flowers. Very good organized. We spent 3 unforgetable hours in this place. If you have children, you must visit the museum.
