“Amazing!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 6, 2013

Just got back from a week at this amazing hotel. Nothing negative to report at all. Everything was wonderful from the food to the accommodation. The hotel itself is just so picturesque with beautiful grounds and varied places to while away the time such as the pool bar, formal bar, taverna and beachside bar, which looks so pretty lit by the little table lamps in the evening. Getting a drink and settling down on a sun lounger to watch the sunset at the hotel private beach was amazing.

The pools are great with a variety of depths, sizes and arrangements to suit all ages. Lots of sunloungers and staff will assist you to move these around, sort out parasols and generally make you comfortable.

There was a wide variety of delicious food in both the main restaurant and Taverna, which was replenished often and always hot. We all found something to our taste for every meal and the salads and grilled meats were amazing.

But what really made the holiday for us was the hotel staff who were unfailingly charming and helpful and also the animation team: Andreas, Maia, Renato, Ollivia and the rest of the team were amazing and went out of their way to provide fun activities whilst not being intrusive or overbearing in any way.

The hotel is designed almost like a village - which is presumably why it is called Annabelle Village - and the central path wends its way down through the complex from the top reception, formal bar and restaurant (with amazing outside terrace and views) past the top pool, shop, spa, chapel (charming) and on down past the rooms which are set in groups (two storey) with landscaped gardens. There are steps which have to be negotiated. Finally on the bottom level is the Taverna, further pools and beach side bar and the private hotel beach. Everything appeared spotless and impeccably maintained. Our room was cleaned every day and was peaceful and very comfortable to return to each night

You can get a taxi to Hersonissos for around 7 euros or take a slow walk and there is a small land train which you can ride around the town and local area and which is good value at 8 euros each for a two hour trip with commentary. The town itself is bustling with some charming bars and tavernas. There is also a local aquarium which was a hit with our teenagers.

Trips can be purchased to places such as Spinalonga and also Knossos in the town centre and there are also some activities on the beach at the hotel, so there is plenty of potential for activity if you want it. Car hire is also available in the hotel lobby and we also noticed that a doctor seems to visit most days and holds a clinic in the hotel which was reassuring to see.

So, it was with regret that we came to the end of our stay and returned home to the UK. We have decided that it is highly likely that we will return here and have already had a look at the website with a view to booking again.

Thank you to all the staff at The Annabelle Beach for making our holiday so very, very good.

Room Tip: Rooms with numbers around 110-130 are pretty central.

This is our second stay at this hotel and we will definitely be returning.

What really stands out about this hotel is the staff and their attitude. The willingness to ensure your visit is as relaxed, comfortable and to your liking is second to none. It would appear other guests share our opinion as we saw several familiar faces and found out they were regulars too, citing the same reasons.

The rooms are clean, with the usual facilities such as fridge, television, hair dryer and super comfy pillows! The blackout blinds are amazing, which were a godsend as we were travelling with our eight month old son.

The hotel is set out on different levels with many steps but there are a few ramps. However, there are service roads either side of the hotel, which we used a lot due to using a stroller.

The food is well thought out to appeal to most tastes and they have a separate area for children including bottle warmers. The staff were very attentive to our needs and bent over backwards to help make sure we had what we needed for our son food wise.

Location wise, it is about half an hour stroll from Chersonisos along a coastal road/path. Within the hotel there is a shop which sells food, gifts, toiletries (including baby necessities) etc.
There is also a store just outside the hotel which again offers all your essentials and more.

I have read other reviews which say it shouldn't be a five star rating, as it isn't luxurious enough. All I can say is look at the photographs and they give a fair depiction of the hotel and it's decor etc.

Overall, I have found this hotel offers proper relaxation and coupled with outstanding customer service.

Went there last week for three nights. Like every one else who has reviewed this property, I found the staff to be friendly, helpful, and very engaging. The room was comfortable and clean and the bed very restful. The resort is on three levels, with the main building on the highest level, the indoor pool and spa, as well as one of the outdoor pools on the lower level and then most of the rooms are in seperate buildings on the lowest level. On that level is also another outdoor pool as well as the beach. We got into Crete on an early morning flight, and although the room would be ready only at 2:00pm, we were able to check in much earlier, without any hassle or fuss. The dining room was spacious and clean and the food plentiful. If I can find any fault with the place, it is the meals was basically the same for the three days I was there without much variation. The staff in the dining room was attentive and helpful as well. Even the staff in the mini market was helpful and friendly. I would recommend this place and certainly come back again.

We have just returned from this hotel it was a wonderful holiday for all the family. The rooms, food, drink and service was to a high standard. We thought we would try something different from the holiday villages and we wasn't disapointed. The animation team made it that little bit more entertaining offering lots of activites for all ages and included all nationalities. Definatly one of the best holidays I have been on and would recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing fun filled family holiday :-).

I spent 10 nights here with my husband and 3 children ages 12,9 and 5. We had an amazing holiday, it was very relaxing yet there was plenty to do. Andreas and the rest of the animation team were excellent they organised activities all day long from water polo, beach volley, aqua fitness, table tennis, keep fit classes. We joined in most of theses activities it was great fun. The animation team also did the evening entertainment which was hilarious, they spoke in all languages so nobody felt excluded. We have been on some holidays where we have had trouble with Germans & Russians being rude etc, although there were lots here we all got on really well we all mixed in with the activities this might be because it isn't a huge complex so people got to now each other. I thought the food was really good and the children ate well too. We had an inter connecting room which was perfect, the bathrooms were modern and very clean. The beach is shingles but lovely the sea was lovely and warm I went swimming there every day. The staff were so accommodating it was clear they loved there jobs. The manager of the hotel was always walking round making sure everything was up to scratch and we made a point of congratulating him on such a lovely hotel. We would definitely return to this hotel when I arrived home I felt soooo relaxed,I am finding it hard to adjust to normal life.

This was our second visit having had 7 nights last June on the All Inclusive. We enjoyed the first time and this second visit ,May 21~28, was just as good ,with service, food and cleanliness all at a high standard. The staff are so welcomimg and have a smile every day. The terrace restaurant has terrific view and the gardens offer welcome shade . Recommended, and will probably go back next year if it is still as good value for money.

We stayed at this hotel in May and had a great time. The hotel covers a large area with two pools and is located on the beach.
We found all members of staff extremely helpful and always pleasant. The food was more than adequate with a variety of choice on offer at each meal time.
The only downside for us, there was not much located near the hotel with the nearest place about 3km away.
