“Friendly, great value and comfortable”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 15, 2013

We first discovered Mylo's a few years ago when it was simply called " The Greek Taverna". Upon going there for the first time on this trip, Maria told us, after a huge welcome, that they had closed down the restaurant but still served food in the bar area, which has a variety of comfortable seating. We had noticed that a couple of our usual haunts had also closed down, but rather than let her standards slip, if anything, Maria has raised the standards of cooking in her taverna.

She is ably assisted by her daughter Antonia and husband Manolis although we didn't see him this trip as he was recovering from a hospital visit.

The menu is fairly simple, although Maria does specialise in the slow -cooked dishes - try her stifado, soutzoukakia or moussaka and be ready to be wowed. We ate here several times, both for lunch and for dinner, never had a bad meal and service was always with a smile and quite often, a joke or two from Antonia.

The beer comes in glasses straight from the ice box and stays cold right to the end of the glass. We never paid more than €20 for a filling lunch here, or more than €30 for dinner, and their house red wine is delicious. There isn't much choice these days in Anissaras for eating, but Maria has stayed busy where others have closed by offering superb food at a very reasonable price. Not to be missed.

“Friendly bar that has everything!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 7, 2013

This bar was amazing! One side is akin to Ibiza with sofas and a chilled vibe, lovely dance music playing quietly. Excellent standard of food and drinks reasonably priced. On the other side of the bar is child heaven! A pony, rabbits, puppies, play areas....we visited every night as it allowed us to have a drink in peace while our toddler ran amok safely. Lovely friendly bar staff, excellent coffee. Loved it here!!!
