“An amazing ten days!”
Reviewed July 15, 2013

I visited Bellos Hotel last July (2012) with my friend. We had been to Hersonisos before a few years back as a big group (guys and girls) and had a brilliant time and my friend and I wanted to revisit in an area that was familiar. We searched and searched for a reasonably priced hotel that was close to the bars and sea front - and boy did we find a good one with Bellos! It's always a scary moment when the coach transfer is dropping people off at different hotels, and you think 'oh my god, I hope this one isn't ours' or 'wow, if only we were staying there! damn it' !! Well, we were lucky and we were hoping as we pulled up outside Bellos that it would be ours, and it was. It had a lively, and friendly atmosphere as soon as we arrived - karaoke night, with Eric the barman being particularly welcoming and inviting us to join for drinks and a singsong. We felt very comfortable.

There were a lot of rumours on Tripadvisor that we had read when booking the holiday, mainly about Eric - these are not true! He did seem quite persuasive at times, but I think he was only doing his job - typically trying to sell more!

The accommodation was clean - we had a lovely lady come in and clean our room every day, and she always knocked if we were in and checked if it was ok to clean or if we would like her to come back! The food was wonderful, a great selection - salad cart which was basically a whole meal, just as a starter. This was followed by a great selection of main meals, varied each night - beef, pork, fish, chicken. Desserts were yum - greek yoghurt with honey was our fav! The waitress Maria was really lovely! Breakfast was just as good - they were always refilling the food station for us! - we were fussy and wanted boiled eggs, they made more!

The facilities there were great, a lovely reception area with indoor seating, pool tables and a funky bar. By the main pool there were a good amount of sun beds, although you had to get up by at least 9am and put your towel on one to make it yours for the day!!!! There is another pool down some spiral metal stairs, and this has a water slide - better to stay away from if you want more peace and less splashing as the kids and younger adults tend to go in here - and young couple just sit and smooch (rather uncomfortable to sit by!) There is a little baby pool/paddling pool by the main pool area which was perfect to cool off in and just relax.

Aside from karaoke night, there was also BBQ night, which was a great experience. We got this included in the price of our holiday as we were half board, but i think it cost about 15 euros if you weren't half board (may not be worth that much though but still a good experience!) Great atmosphere, with music playing and plenty of food - delicious meats!

The location of this hotel was perfect for us. I was about a 10 minute walk to the supermarket to stock up on big bottles of water for the apartment! About 15 mins to the main strip of bars and restaurants. A 15 minute walk in the other direction (right out of the hotel, up the hill) leads to a lovely little village, definitely worth a visit for lunch or a walk! Very pretty and quaint!

Overall, this hotel was fantastic, it was cheap and yet such an amazing experience. The hotel were friendly, clearly a family run hotel - Mr Bellos and his dutch wife were wonderful!

Advice:
- be careful of ants in the apartment, they get in mainly through the windows! Tightly wrap all food that's been opened!
- pay for air con! Definitely worth the money as otherwise, it's SOO hot!
- if you're going out for a night clubbing in town, predrink in the apartment, and don't go out before about 1am - all the clubs are dead otherwise.
- BEST bars/clubs: tiger, shenanigans!

This was my first time abroad so was quite nervous and while everything on trip advisor was positive I didn't expect it to be as good as the pictures etc... But now having spent a week there I can say its even better than the photos!
When we arrived it was late at night, we were showed to our room and invited down to the bar where we were served by Eric and made to feel very welcome!
The place is very beautiful and a great location, 15 minutes up the road and you get a choice of restaurants and tavernas and 15 minutes down the road you have a vast choice of shops, bars and of course the beach!
We already can't wait to go back :)

Have been twice to this hotel August 12 and October 12 and can't really fault it, just booked to return next year. The hotel is situated just outside the resort, but near enough to walk in aprox 5-10mins. Be aware there are some hills and the hotel is built on an incline. (If you cut through porto vilage it cuts the walk down and the hills down into the town). The hotel has plenty of amenities, gym/sauna, tennis court, football court with astroturf, internet TVX 3 in the bar area and they will put on what ever you want, films sport etc just ask. Darts, games pool table. 2 swimming pools and 2 for the smaller children. The lower pool has waterslides which keeps the kids occupied all day, there is a pool bar and a decked area to sunbathe with sunbeds. This leaves the upper pool virtually adult only with a large lawned area to sunbathe with plenty of shade if needed and loads of sunbeds. there is also a small pool for younger children. There is a large paved area in front of the bar area with plenty of tables to sit and a upstairs restauraunt where evening meals are served. Breakfast and snacks/meals are served downstairs during the day. The whole comlex has beautiful well kept gardens full of fruiting trees oranges, lemons, figs, and all the balconies have grape vines climbing up which are full of fruit in the summer. Rooms are spacious and kept very clean with changes to bed linen towels ect every few days. Beds are comfortable and there are tables and chairs inside and on the balcony. The cooking facilities are basic a two ringed hob, fridge with freezer compartment, toaster and kettle so don't expect to cook gourmet meals, but is enough to do breakfast and snacks. Eating out is reasonable anyway and you are on holiday. The meals provided by the hotel on half board are basic but really tasty and really good value. Breakfast has tea/coffee,toast,fresh bread rolls/sliced jams, sausages bacon eggs, ham/cheese tomatoes, cerials milk fruit etc, evening has salad bar and 3 starters on a help yourself buffet a choice of 2 mains with rice/veg/potatoes or chips and a sweet. For the price you pay I expected much less for the 10 euros per person per day. Staff are all friendly and very helpfull, star of the bar Eric, The owners Christos and Maria are usually around and very helpfull just ask if you have any problems. Free welcome drink on arrival. There is a large spar supermarket just down the hill and a hotel shop for your daily needs, milk, bread, water, sweets etc. 5 euros-7euros in a taxi from the supermarket if you want to do a big shop. Meals offered in the hotel are good value and great if you just want to stay in. It is a very quiet hotel no noise after 10pm which keeps the younger groups away, this is famiy and couple orientated and away from the summer madness in the town, its there if you want it when you want it. Plenty of shopping in the town, beach 10-15mins, 3 villages 10 mins walk. Air con/security box payable locally, we did not need this, even in August. This is an excellent value for money holiday destination don't miss out.

Room Tip: Studios are large enough and have extra bed, one bedroomed are great for families with 4 beds all ve...

we stayed at bellos for a week in sept, and all we can say is we cant wait to go back!!! in fact my son cried on the plane as he did not want to leave!
we were greated on arrival by friendly smiling staff & a drink on the house which was very welcoming!
we had a studio room which was great for the 3 of us, rooms were very clean. the surroundings at bellos are just beautiful very well kept and so pretty.
the pools were outstanding and always plenty of loungers we had great fun on the water flumes.
we were always greated by friendly staff & nothing was too much trouble.
also this is an example of just how brilliant they were, my son bought a very trendy! blue cap while we were there and i unfortunatly forgot to pack it! this resulted in one very unhappy little boy,and one told off mummy!! i emailed bellos to see if it had been found, it had, and was kindly sent back to us in Bristol,UK.
so if you are planning a holiday at Bellos, go for it you wont be disappointed!!!

Arrived at the hotel in the early morning for two weeks at the end of Sep, beginning of Oct. Staff were very friendly. Shown to our rooms and headed down to the bar. Eric on the bar is a cracking bloke and even remembered all of our names for the rest of the holiday which was a nice touch. For Greek standards the rooms are great with everything you need. Hot water was a little temperamental, some days not having hot water but that didn't bother us as it was so hot we needed a cool down. All staff were amazing, always going out of their way to speak to you, especially our two little girls who loved speaking to all their friends at the Bellos. Rooms were cleaned every day, towels changed every other day. Hotel was mainly full of English and Dutch with the occasional French family.

Only bad thing I could say about it is the location if you are with children or have walking difficulties as it's all uphill on the way back from the town, not far, only 15 minutes, but when you are pushing a pushchair uphill it can get hard work, as the hill does get very steep near the hotel.

So in all, great hotel. Our two girls loved it. Christos the owner and all the staff really do go out of their way to make your holiday a great one. Would I go back? Yes, but will probably wait a couple of years until the kids get a bit older due to the hill. Would I recommend? Without hesitation, great hotel.

Had a really lovely holiday at bellos, the staff were all lovely and welcoming. We went half board there was a lot of choice of food but what we did get was nice, my 3yr old is very fussy but they had no problem making her something she liked which was great.
The rooms are very basic but fine for what we needed, the only bad thing I will say is the beds and pillows were rock hard. The pool an slides was great my 3yr old loved it, I will say tho make sure kids wear shoes if they go in the wooden decking as my little one got splinters in her feet.
But overall this was a lovely holiday and I would recommend, thanks bellos :))
