Reviewed June 7, 2012

My husband & I (in our 30's) stayed for a week at Oasis Beach Hotel in Anissaras in May-June 2012 and it's the best place we've been to in Greece!
The family are genuinely interested in taking care of their guests, and making sure they enjoy and relax on their hols, nothing seemed too much trouble.
The rooms are fantastic, comfy beds, well equipped bathroom with power shower, & flat screen TVs with cable channels.
Great views too as there is not much else around other than farm/scrub land do you can relax on your balcony without looking straight onto another hotel! (TIP if you enjoy sitting on your balcony in the evening in the sun get a room facing the pool as the garden rooms are shaded in the evening).
Food here is excellent, breakfast is continental but the same each day, (would've been nice to have some other fruit than tinned peaches but I like them so not complaining!) BUT the evening meal never failed to disappoint, with authentic home cooked Greek specialities as well as other things like pasta and rice plus lots of variations of salad and desserts, there was something for everyone. It was some of the tastiest food I've eaten! They also do snacks during the day (which are payable).
Great, well stocked bar on site, expertly run by brothers Manos and Dimi, always aiming to please the customers, they are great!
The local area is a quiet village, its flat to walk around and it's only a 2 min walk down the road to the beach, which is sandy and very clean. The sea is very rocky but you can still walk out bare foot and swim. There are also the usual water sports on the beach.
There are only 3 bars/ tavernas in Anissaras which is fine for a week if you're half board but probably would have to go elsewhere if self catering! But a pleasant 10 min walk down the pedestrian path along the beach comes to Analipsi beach and bars/tavernas where there is a bit more choice.
TIP take the land train to Hersonissos port, it's only €10 for a 2 hr round trip but you can get off and walk around the port shops and restaurants and just get back on the train later. It's a lovely drive around some beautiful villages and then into the busier Hersonissos (the Port is a lovely area compared to the main strip!).
At the time we were there the area seemed to be most popular with German / Russian / Dutch people and a lot of bars & attractions are tailored to this audience but we didn't mind at all, it was really refreshing not to see all the english fry up / football shirt types that are usually in Greece!!
All in all a fantastic weeks holiday, we would definitely recommend and go back. This particular hotel is probably best suited to couples rather than families but there are lots of other hotels around set up with things to entertain the kids.

A very comfortable hotel, well run by the family, who all make you feel very welcome. Authentic greek food and in plentyfull supply. The area is flat and very good for walking with some nice taverners in the area.

The hotel is set in beautiful gardens but beyond the perimeter of the hotel is a lot of wasteland and scrub land. It is a family run hotel and Heidi and her husband Marinos make you feel welcome. The rooms are quite spacious and the bathroom with shower was fine except that we had no hot water on a morning for a shower for three days. I complained on the first morning but it took three days to call a "technician" to put it right. The pool area is very nice and there is a nice pool bar run by the two brothers of the family. Breakfast is basic. Why tinned peaches in a country where fresh fruit is plentiful. The orange is orange squash rather than orange juice and we just had a feeling that Heidi was trying to economise at the guests' expense. The evening meal was good quality but get there early because "once it's gone it's gone" eg a lovely platter of fresh fruit was put out but half the diners went without because it was not replenished when used up.Overall a pleasant hotel but nothing to rave about.« less
“Top Tip: Hire a car and see the mountains and try a trip to Stalis and the 9 Muses taverna on the sea front

Room Tip: All rooms are similar opening to outside - no corridors.

We've just returned from 6 days at the Oasis Beach Hotel. The first night we arrived we had trouble finding it, but were pleasantly surprised to hear that the staff had set aside some dinner for us. Their hospitality was exceptional all through the week, at times it felt like staying in a friend's home but still with the flexibility and independence of a hotel stay. The family that run the hotel are lovely, genuine hosts.

There's a great shop down the road from the hotel called Mike's - be sure to stop in and ask him to recommend some sights. We took most of his suggestions and had a great time exploring the incredible places he recommended.

we booked this hotel after having read the reviews. they were sooo right! everything about this hotel is wonderful, from the minute you get there till the minute you leave! the rooms were refurbished in 2010, they are not huge, but clean, modern and very, very pleasant. beds are comfy, linen is lovely, power shower is gorgeous and the views from sea to inland are very good too. you have a flat screen tv in the room too! you can use a laptop if you plug in at the pool bar, and in a few weeks time, the hotel hopes to have WI FI installed. breakfast is continental, but there is plenty of it! dinner is superb!! traditional greek food, fresh and hot and again, plent of choice and different every night, also lots for veggies!
the pool area isnt crowded, its beautifully clean and an absolute delight! we stayed for 7 nights BB&D, and it really was the best value we have ever had! we drove ourselves from Heraklion airport, its only 24 km, but a bit of a bugger to find!! we found it after phoning the hotel the day before as we couldnt pinpoint it on google. so for others, i will try to make the driving instructions easy! here goes!!! when you leave the airport, head east and follow signs for Agios Nikolos. after about 18km you come to a sign for Kato Gouves. take the old national road off to the right. follow this for about 4 0r 5 km. then you will see two kiosks at the side of the road to your right, (as in open shops with tent type rooves) there is a junction here, so turn immediately to your left. as you turn you will see a fur shop, ( i've said this so that you know you've turned in the right place!) now, as soon as you have turned left, you need to swing the car almost into a U turn left again. this will take you onto a narrow road that runs parallel to the main road you have just driven up. drive down this lane, past Villas Marins, ( again just for your reference), carry on untill you see a sign for Annisa Beach ( this is on your left) turn right down another small road. after about 1/2 mile you will see the small gated entrance to Oasis Beach. Drive in and start the best holiday you will probably ever have!!
The family who run the hotel are very friendly and you are assured of a warm welcome, whatever time of day you arrive. Heidi and Marinos run it by day, and their wonderful sons' Manos and Dimitrios run it by evening. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing, chilled out break, this is the place for you! the nearby town of Hersonissos Port is 4 km away, for cheap food go to the Lidl just before the town, plenty of gift shops and restaurants all reasonably priced, either go by the road train or take the car. parking is easy, just turn off to the left or right and park in the little side streets. My husband and are are 57 and 54 and i cannot praise this hotel enough! In all our years of travelling, we have never been back to the same hotel twice, but for this one...we will make the exception!!! we fully intend to go back as we both enjoyed it so much.

Room Tip: email the hotel before you go, letting them know what time you're getting there, all the rooms a...

I had read several reports about the Oasis Beach and thought I would give it a try. Oh I'm so glad I did. What a brilliant hotel, family run and in a perfect setting. It's in a quiet area but if this is your kind of holiday then I can't praise it enough. The hotel is small but very comfortable, clean and modern and it is obvious they have recently refurbished the rooms. The food is exceptional, I can honestly say I have never had better. Both breakfast and evening meals has a wide selection of fresh and well prepared food, (growing a lot themselves in the surrounding gardens).

I spent 12 days there, nearly at the end of the season. Although probably very tired, Heidi, Marinos and their two sons Manos and Dimitris couldn't do enough to make my holiday special.

Thank you all
