We arrived in the early ours on a cheap flight. Reception is difficult to see, we walked past it a few times before eventually ringing the bell. We woke up the dude that lives/works there and he was massively pissed off. We were put in a room that had been baking in the sun through the big glass doors all day, and the AC was broken. I went to ask for another room but was told "no". For breakfast, me and my girlfriend were served 17 slices of toast and the dude that worked there was upset we didn't eat all of it. The morning after we got 1 piece of toast, so asked for more and the dude said "i gave you more yesterday, i don't know what you want". It's actually funny thinking about how poor it was, it's a good job me and my gf don't really get too affected by idiots. It's a 40 minute walk to town so you will need to hire a bike or car. There is car parking and the pool area was actually quite nice.

This was our 2nd visit to Kreta Natur, and we were so pleased that we chose to return as we had another fantastic holiday. It's a small complex with studio apartments, air conditioned and airy, there are some cooking facilities but we chose to eat at the resort or out locally every day. Because of the size of the complex, you really get to know your fellow holidaymakers, George and Maria put on a bbq night once a week (don't miss out!) and it's a great opportunity to eat traditional food, get drunk on traditional drink (homemade Raki, which is a bit lethal!) and have a laugh by learning to dance the greek way (involving a lot of plate smashing and fire). Maria and George are fantastic hosts, they really treat you like family which made the holiday that extra bit special. Michael does brilliant cocktails with a smile and everything at the resort is reasonably priced so you can have leisurely drinks by the pool without breaking the bank. Maria also does a delicious chicken special which comes with greek salad, bread, fantastic potatoes and fruits, raki and homemade cake is also included in the 15 euro price. We recommend enjoying it on the roof terrace during sunset- you will get an amazing view of the sun setting on the sea!

Aside from the food and drink, the pool is also lovely with comfortable sunloungers. The beach is about 10-15 minutes walk which also has free sunloungers and there are some other bars and restaurants nearby although the best ones are in old hersonissos (10 euro taxi, so share with some fellow guests if it's just the 2 of you, Michael/George will be happy to book for you). New hersonissos has a port from which you can take a variety of boat trips- we booked the Nemo glassbottom tour to Sissi and St Georges Bay which is highly recommended and they will pick you up from the hotel if you email them (for free).

We had a great time and the only downside is that we only stayed for a week! Will definitely be returning once we get the chance!

Room Tip: All have seaview rooms- the two times we've stayed we've been on ground floor so the sea view is more when you're sat on your outside terrace rather than through a window but it's still nice!

I stayed here for 8 days with my boyfriend 2nd - 10th june and do not have one bad word to say about it. On arrival Maria welcomes you with a drink on the house. In the rooms you have an iron, a small ironing board, a hair dryer, fresh sheets and towels every day, along with loo roll. all rooms are sea view, some with the pool also. Maria and George were the most fantastic hosts, they learn everyones names and so it is all on a first name basis, and it is easy to get to know the other guests as it is a small complex. There is a taxi rank 2 minutes away, and loads of supermarkets in close range. I would more then recommend the bbq. The food was phenomanal, more then enough for everyone to have seconds, then greek dancing. George showed us his wine cellar, and we tasted it straight from the barrell, it was fantastic.

Already planning a trip back here, it was exactly what we needed!!!

It was quite some time ago when myself and my partner visited Kreta Natur but we had to leave a review since singing up to Trip Advisor. We visited in June 2012 as a post university relaxing break.

The hotel is immaculate, tranquil and grown up.

Positives:

+ The hotel owners (George and Maria) are what make this place special. They do anything for their guests and treat you like the hotel is your own home. Maria will knock up her amazing greek salad and George was even barbecuing for another guests request when we visited. Be sure to sit and talk to them because they both have an interesting past and are just inspiring to talk too.
+ The pool is incredible. With so few rooms the pool is never busy. We ALWAYS had somewhere to sit and the pool was never loud.
+ The apartments themselves are finished to a high specification (I'm an architect - I should know).
+ The views are incredible. The balconies up the upper levels give you a lovely view out to the sea which was great to sit and eat lunch too.
+It's quiet and perfect for couples. Not sure the kids would enjoy it - there are some other more child friendly resorts down the road with slides etc.
+ The famous BBQ. Maria and George organised a BBQ one night every week and served amazing food and salads - beware the Raki. I got suckered into drinking too much of this. I hope you brought your dancing shoes because there will be lots of greek dancing and plate throwing.
+ Georges Rocks! George will show you a tour of his rocks (which are actually very cool) and each one has a story. They don't just make the place unique but all have a story.

Negatives:

None. Not one single thing I would change about this place.

I honestly cant fault this place. If you're looking for a party destination this isn't for you. I wouldn't think twice about returning to this lovely set of apartments - just book!

Thanks so much George and Maria!

Room Tip: All rooms are fantastic but if you can go for an upper level room to get a better view of the sea.

After the warm welcome from Maria & George, what most impressed us was the delicious breakfast, the cleanliness of the room, and the proximity to the beaches and Hersonissos town. Kreta Natur is a quiet, friendly place that we'd highly recommend for couples.
