“have darshan without any help”
Reviewed February 17, 2014

I visited the temple on 11th evening of feb & 12th morning, with my family. we took the help of a panda & paid him 500 rupees. But after visiting the place my advice to fellow travelers is 1.You can visit the place without anybody's help. 2. please enter the temple & have free darshan which takes around thirty minutes in the evening. 3.After having darshan look for ticket counter where they sell tickets for rupees 25 towards special darshan . 4,Stand in the queue for darshan & you need not to pay any one. “manhandling”
Reviewed February 16, 2014

If you are the religious kinds, you would ignore the nonsense around and concentrate on the temple. But the pandits at the temple are very irritating and keep bugging you for money. Do not open your wallet here. Do not talk to them. Just do the darshan and leave the temple.

“1900 years old temple still stand high”
Reviewed February 15, 2014 via mobile

This temple was made in the year 1100. Today in 2014 this temple still stand high though the temple is under renovation . The best time to visit the temple in the morning to see the MANGAL ARTI. While visiting the temple you should not carry your mobile , camera or shoes . Shoes stands are available just out side the temple to keep your shoes and mobile , camera etc. Inside the temple you will find lot of 'Pandas' who will guide you inside. Keep in mind that this pandas also demand a lot of money for 'Puja'. So you better be ready before you do a visit in here. This one is the must visit here in Puri.

“Holy place but pandas”
Reviewed February 13, 2014

Puri Jaganath temple is a great place, but should be ready to manage the crowd and most importantly the pandas over there. They are like vultures and block your way, create undue chaos and eager to help you for money for each step.

Avoid eye contact with them, else they start suggesting you few things and then will follow you. They try and give you few things like coins, etc and demand money from you. If you refuse, they shout and mis-behave too.

You can't have good peaceful darshan without a support of the guide. The guide we hired, blocked the crowd and made passage for us at some tough places and we did have very nice darshan. Costed us about Rs 500. And actually there is not other option to have a smooth movement for darshan, as the rush over there is more of Panda's creation.

The temple architecture is just beautiful, and after your darshan of the lord Jaganath, you forget the mismanagement of the people over there.

“A spiritual experience”
Reviewed February 9, 2014

The Puri Jagannath Temple appears to be a chaotic place, wherein a visitor has to wade through all the money seeking pandits and a crowd of pilgrims, young and old. But the moment you put your first sight on the idols of Jagannath, Subhadra and Balbhadra, all choas seems superficial, only peace and tranquillity prevails. This place is a-must-visit for seekers on the path of spirituality.
