Central and important place. U can have all your needs fulfilled here. Hotels, restaurants, shops, taxi, bus everything...And what else u want !! We went there during X-Mas, 2012 and we witnessed the colourful shillong. People were just enjoying and singing carol with guiters in hand. Santa himself was on the road distributing chocolates...The air was filled with all fun...Great and wll come again..

Is this the central square of the city? OMG. We have successfully ensured that even the landlocked places like Shillong, are perfectly neglected and suffused with junk, plastic, trash, unhygienic environment.
Whole place is full of stink, spittoons, unattended and uncleaned public space. Neither the public has the compunction nor the small businesses have any iota of responsibility nor even the government seem to be interested in this plight of affairs. Utmost negligence. Its compounded by the utter chaotic trafiffic: all human made endeavors so uniquely indigenous for us ...

Police Bazar is the center point of the city. The tourism offices, restaurants, hotels are all near to this point. I suggest staying near to this point. This is a market place, you can do some shopping if needed. Woolen cloths and jackets are really cheap.

Nice place for people who like to shop, many of the stores sell "western" goods for a modest price. I preferred the Bara Bazar in comparison but it's still a nice place to roam around if you're looking to buy some cheap sneakers.

Very crowded. It was raining when we went there and found all the place in dirt. did not enjoy our experience. best way is to stick away from the center and enjoy the beauty of the rest of shillong
