We had a number of dinners here during our stay at the hotel itself. Our experiences are probably a little colored by the rather poor breakfast buffet. All in all the food is exactly what it promises to be; nothing more and nothing less. While this is not necessarily a problem it is also not something to write home about, especially considering the prices which are steep. Shillong, however, is hardly a culinary destination, in fact we struggled quite a bit to find decent food. Most of it, especially the Khasi dishes are, unlike for instance Assamese food, very fatty and oily. Pork tends to be a fatty chunk of meat; the chicken is often a better bet. This hotel restaurant is an okay place, if you are staying in the hotel you have the added advantage of already being there, but if you are staying in town itself I wouldn't recommend making the detour.
