“Engaging insight into all of East India”
Reviewed February 22, 2013

Well organised and managed multi-storey museum. Traces history of each part of East India. Evolution, traits, lives, culture, eating and livelihood, cultivation, tools, implements, traditions well explained. Each room has a touch-enabled Kiosk with more information (the content can be enhanced). Rooms light-up and power down sensing visitors. Pretty hostesses on each floor are always around smilingly to assist. Amazing skywalk on terrace that gives birds eye-vies of the city. Very rewarding and completely worth the time visit.

“Nice museum”
Reviewed February 3, 2013

Very well trained guides who give you a brief on what to see on every floor. The floors which were interesting were the ones that housed the costumes & jewellery worn by the different groups of the North East. Also was the section that showed the different facial features of the groups of the North East.
For a place like Shillong, it was quite interesting to see that the museum is high tech with touch screen computers that tell you all about the particular floor you are visiting. The little souvenir shop on the ground floor has a few good things worth picking up.

“All about North East India”
Reviewed January 27, 2013

If u r curious to know any minute details of North East India. Ur visit to Don-Bosco Museum is a worthwhile. Its Misconception that Museum visits are for kids/ students. Its for any adventurous / fun loving tourists like us. U learn a lot about the people / tribals of North East India here. Every Collection Whether its a utensils, clothes, statues ,maps, videos, amazing. Last but not least Sky Walk, the proper utilization of space. u had spectacular view of Shillong from the above. And the end not forget to take DVD/ Videos for the information which u observe / learn.
So what to do learn, must visit this place when in Shillong.
