Very good service & management.
Very clean rooms.
Excelent variety of food served.
Amazing and entertaining shows every evening followed by a dance jam session at night.

Service at its best! Stayed at this property during last week of April 14.
We were group of 4 families and had booked 2 duplex rooms. Last minute 1 family could not join. Hotel manager was considerate enough to cancel one duplex and offer a single room.
We had 4 kids with us, and we all know how fussy they are about food. All special requests pertaining to their food - food which were not even listed on menu were promptly met. We never heard "NO" for an answer.
The staff was always courteous.
They constantly seeked feedback on stay, food and service. We provided minor one, which was enacted upon immediately.
They have a small but well maintained swimming pool, where is the main area of activities. Discothèque is located near swimming pool, which may perhaps pass as one of the best in Matheran.
Food especially non-veg is yum! They offer buffet for all meals and breakfasts, which has huge variety.

Tip - there are huge number of monkeys in Matheran, and sometimes they can be real nuisance. Always keep your rooms closed, even if they are occupied. Monkeys tend to enter rooms in search of food. Avoid carrying snacks OR providing it to your kids while outside as monkeys snatch food.

It takes almost 3 hrs by car to reach Dasturi park. At the entrance of Matheran it is very much advisable to take professional drivers to climb up the ghats. The slopes are very steep. At Dasturi park to pay for entrance and car park. Toy train timings are every 45 mins. Porters , horses and hand carts await you for assistance. A must bargaining is required. No body ever cheats you there.
Westend hotel is 15 mins walk from Matheran station.
Muddy surface path and surrounded with monkeys.
Take care of any food items.
The hotel staff are very cooperative and obliging . Mr Ganesh Was very helpful through out . The facilities as mentioned in the westend website are very much in existence. The food is excellent.
38 points to view can be covered in 3 days. Negotiate the cost of travel for sight seeing is a must.
Overall stay was excellent and the taste of chikki still sweetens my mouth.

Location is very good - quiet and more towards the forest but still not very far from the main market place (about 10mins walk).Good rooms

Hotel is very good for family to stay ,clean pool, with a lot of indoor activities,Juggler and Magic shows arrange was good and kept kids busy and happy.

Excellent Veg food and good non-veg food were arrange at pool side, the only thing which was annoying was fly around the food dish on lunch time disturbing eating as lunch arrange at pool-side open space but at dinner this was not the case.

Echo-point ,Lake point, and lords point are relatively close from the hotel ,Overall Stay-Service was good and satisfactory

We visited Matheran in April 2014 for 2 Nights & 3 Days. The resort is one of the good property I have visited in Matheran. A bit aloof but calm and peaceful. the hospitality is awesome as Ganesh, Chaphekar kaka will be ready to help you and serve you all time. We stayed in Super Deluxe AC room which was quite clean & cosy. The resort has a child play area, a swimming pool and various green spots to sit and watch nature. The best thing of the Resort is its Food and especially the Non-Veg food prepared and the deserts. I also liked the Discotheque which I never expected to be so good in Matheran. Point like Alexander Point, Eco Point, Lake Charlotte are close by the resort. A good place for Bird Lovers as ideal for Bird Watching... Good place for a small break...

Westend Matheran is almost the last of the resorts towards the forest end. We booked for a 2 nights 3 days package. It comes along with a package of all meals. Right from morning tea/ coffee, break fast, lunch, evening tea/ coffee with biscuits and a dinner are included. We chose this hotel because it was the only one resort which gave the option of cancellation when U do the booking months in advance.
Now the pluses:
Very friendly staff. Very nice food in their breakfast, lunch and dinner all served near the swimming pool. The variety offered was really good. The attention was amazing. Guests are individually asked whether they need anything special. We got our curds specially for a dinner. I heard another guest asking whether they can serve chappatis in a buffet where they already had rotis including Rumali. Still they got what they wanted. The staff have a standard response. For anything you ask, "milega Saab" meaning sure you get it. After the swim and half an hour before they were scheduled to start lunch, I asked whether a bowl of soup possible. The reply was "milega Saab" and sure I got what I wanted. Catering in charge Noor was attending to guest personally.
We got new shuttle clocks and TT balls every time we demanded. The swimming pool is very clean, although not a big one. They even allowed us to have our swim in the morning out of the pool hours. The full body massage I had in their Spa was the best ever I had so far. Athem, the guy from North Eastern part was amazing. The cost of massage, though was not cheap....
Now the minuses, although are less in magnitude compared to pluses:
The rooms are not bigger, although we had a super deluxe. The toilets could be kept cleaner, although the house-keeping was always at your service whenever u needed. There was a problem of hot water on the last day, though due to some technical problems, I understand. Monkeys start jumping onto the tin shades making hell of a nice as soon as the Sun rises., again I understand that is a common menace throughout Matheran.
On the whole the stay was comfortable. The resort was good with full of greenery. Enough activities to keep children busy, including magic shows etc in the evenings. I would surely recommend Westend to anyone who visits the pollution free hill station , Matheran.

Hotel West-End a perfect charming place to unwind.
A stay almost in the forest and yet hardly 7-10 minutes from the centre of activity at Matheran, the Main Market area!
Quiet, peaceful and well designed, the rooms are good sized, with adequate facilities. Staff is very prompt, helpful and friendly.
Food at the resort is worthy of mention - the buffet, has a wide range of dishes, both veg and non-veg, to suit all tastes. The menu reflects the personal attention of the management given towards hospitality. Fresh and piping hot food, clean dishes, enjoyed around the pool-side area, is a wonderful way to relax and enjoy the beauty and non-polluted atmosphere of Matheran. Verandahs and sit-outs for almost all rooms with a lovely garden / valley / poolside view is a great way to begin and end the day! Lots of activities for little ones. The Clean Swimming pool is good for a leisurely dip and maintained very well. Over all, one feels safe and comfortable at the resort. Most certainly recommended!!

Room Tip: Pool side rooms are a little noisier since they are at the centre of the action...
