We stayed in Jan 2013 and what an amazing experience it was.

This is a Government owned MPTDC property. We went during off-season and the entire resort was absolutely empty, effectively we had the whole place to ourselves (there are only 6 rooms)...

The hospitality of the staff was amazing, they seem to be very well trained.

The rooms are clean, big and spacious, there is a dressing room and a huge bathroom/toilet (even in the standard rooms). We got a good deal from goibibo (all inclusive at 3000 per day).

The location is slightly off the center of the town, but it isn't way out of the town centre...

The only thing lacking in this place was that even though they had fireplaces in each of the rooms, they were non-functional...

Room Tip: No need to go for superior rooms, standard rooms on the inner side (not garden side) are quite good...

This was a bungalow of a British officer which has now been converted into a small resort. Set up in a beautiful the bungalow has got just six rooms, so not much noise & crowd. The rooms are big & spacious with a huge bathroom (without the bathtub), high ceilings, a fireplace (for show only, doesn’t works for fire safety reasons), antique furniture give you a taste of the British Raj. The dining hall is small but sufficient (given the fact that there are only six rooms), the food is nice & homely, no ala carte only buffet & you need to tell your preferences in advance if you desire anything special to be cooked for you. They have a nice garden & the biggest surprise in spite of being a MPTDC property; it is very well kept & has exceptional service. Highly recommended for a British Raj holiday in a place which has its own charm & pace.

Room Tip: Go for premium rooms (rooms which has higher cost) as the rest of the rooms dont have a good view.

It was my first experience to stay in an one and half century old bunglow. room, rest room are so spacious and neat and clean. Moreover, antique furniture also remind us of the British era. The red marbled wide varandah surrounding the rooms of the property is marvellous. The garden is well maintained. And the cook prepares mouth watering dishes. Very calm and quiet place and one can just relax and relax without venturing outside. Very few staff are there but they are helpful.

Room Tip: Room facing garden are having high roof and so more comfortable, moreover view is nice.

We (me with wife and daughter) had been to Pachmarhi for New Year.

Pachmarhi as a place is very different to all other hill stations. The only attractions are rock and rocks and more rocks. While some of them like Jatashankar Gupt Mahadev and Reechgarh are nice, the others seemed to be forced into being tourist attractions. And you need to have transportation to go anywhere which can be expensive.

The Satpura retreat managed by MPTDC is a fantastic place to stay. The rooms are clean and nice. The food was simply fantastic. The staff go out of the way to cater to you. More importantly, there are few nice places to eat outside. We had one meals at an outside restaurant and it was worth forgeting.

Although we went as a single family, there were others who had come as a group with their own car. This is the ideal way to come and stay at Stpura Retreat for a large family vacation.

Room Tip: All the rooms are good but if you come as a group, you can choose adjoining rooms overlooking the ga...

I WANTED A HERITAGE RAJ ERA BUNGALOW REEKING WITH ATMOSPHERE, TRANQUIL, AND WITH A QUIET GARDEN. this is it. absolutely perfect. i had a standard room and it was huge with a fabulous big heritage bath. perfect. meals were ok, and staff was so kind and helpful, arranging a jeep tour, etc. relaxing terrace fronting the grden. made reservations through madya pradesh tourism. hire car from bhopal was 4,000 rupees one way, same back. but property is inexpensive so it evens out. a bit of a hike into the sites of the central area but doable and there is the option of a day's jeep hire for the sites of the town. otherwise use the jeep for the waterfall and gorge view day tour.

Room Tip: standard rooms are great, no need to spend extra for superior room

we stayed in one of the tents during the rainy season and trust me the stay was awesome. We loved strolling aorund the property. Quite well located. Tents are maintained with all the basic amenities. Rooms too are decently done. The lawns are pruned and flower beds maintained. Food served during dinner was nice but breakfast was disappointing. There wasnt much of choice. Staff is cordial and helpful.
