We had a two night weekday stay at the Inn for our anniversary and my birthday. It was our second time and we loved it again. Very clean rooms and attentive staff. The breakfast was kept warm for us the morning we slept in until 10 am, and it was excellent. As mentioned in other reviews, it is "on the Strip" but far enough away from the craziness. We loved the wrap around front porch for morning coffee or an evening cocktail. This is where we met Jerry, the owner. We had a great conversation and he filled us in with some interesting history and facts about Geneva on the Lake. We have stayed at other places in the area, and without a doubt, this is the best place to stay in this price range.

This B&B is not at all the way the website describes. This was the only room we could get for weekend of 5/13 and 5/14/2011. House sits right on the strip on the other side of the street from the lake - you cannot see the lake. Could hear loud music and people yelling from the bars across the street and lots of traffic until 2am. It was awful. We had to run our noisy, window air conditioner to drown out the noise from outside and even that didn't drown out the traffic noise. We were on the second floor.

I would never recommend this for a romantic or restful getaway. It is right in the middle of the carnival that is the "strip" at Geneva on the Lake.

The room itself was clean and the bathroom was nice with a good shower and water pressure but not worth $149 per night. We told the host we had to leave before breakfast serving time of 9:00am to attend a seminar and no muffins or bread or anything except coffee or tea was available to us. I was very disappointed. Lu seemed nice but we only saw her for about 5 minutes our entire trip so can't really comment.

If you're looking for a place to stay after you've been out all night, then this might be for you.

Thank you for reviewing our Inn. Your comments are extremely valuable to us. Though we understand that not everyone has the same lodging taste, we truly try to make ALL of our guests as comfortable and happy as we possibly can.

As for romance. Ashtabula County boasts numerous wineries, covered bridges, antique shops and restaurants. Most of our guests do come for the romance as they can spend time touring all of these whether on their own, or by taking a private tour. Some of our guests never leave the front porch as they love people watching, reading a good book, or just enjoying a bottle of wne together or with our other guests.

As for noise, I wish we could apologize for this, but....our Inn is directly on the strip...at the Lake...on weekends.. Again, as we are directly on the strip, most of our guests truly enjoy the hussle-bussle of the weekend noise, though, as you state, it can be at times over whelming with vacationer's and bikers, and now the guest enjoynig 'Crawl' late into the evening.

We would love for you to give us another try, though on a weekday this time? I believe you will find it a bit more peaceful and relaxing! Again, thank you for taking the time to review us.

We chose this inn based upon Trip Advisor reviews. It's a nice place. Nicest feature for us was the big front porch where we were able to sit in the evening, enjoy a glass of wine (the inn provides beerm soda, water, and cookies/brownines) and chat with the other guests. Given that Geneva on the Lake is a typical "water" tourist town...with lots of honky tonk, and this one with a particular welcome to bikers (!), this is certainly one of two or three places to stay. It is located toward the north end of town, so it's mercifully somewhat removed from the fudge/tee shirt/bars environment of "downtown." Rooms are very small with the exception of the King suite (which we would certainly reserve if returning sometime) but bathroom was spacious and bed was very comfortable. There was no room for a table or desk on which one might put a laptop, and wi-fi as received on the front porch was spotty. The house is in need of some TLC...window paint peeling/no screens on windows etc. One rather quirky thing...breakfast is served at 9 AM and that's it! If you have to be on the road earlier, forget it. And if you happen to arrive a few minutes past 9 your eggs and potatoes will be cold. Seemed strange to us that food wasn't kept hot in chafing dishes or on warming plates. Perhaps it was just the day we were there but all of the outstanding specially baked items that we read about in other reviews were missing, save some very nice muffins. We didn't meet the owners until we were about to depart, but Lu (the only one we met) was very friendly.

Very clean, great location, awesome hosts. Lu and Jerry lovingly restored this historic rooming house into a modern bed and breakfast while maintaining the integrity of the building. Full, hot, yummy breakfast. Afternoon brownies, freshly baked muffins and pie. Very comfortable beds, spacious bathrooms and soft towels.
The huge front porch was a favorite gathering spot for the guests, and hosts Lu and Jerry often joined us. We are looking forward to staying again!
