“Nice Nearby Getaway”

We were here for a wedding that was also on-site. Check in was fast, the rooms were clean and updated, and the bar/restaurant food was very good. Be prepared to tote your own luggage and trek downstairs to eat as there is no valet or room service. Just outside the hotel you can jump on walking trails along the lake which is very convienient. We were here after the pool was closed (late fall) and the ourdoor patios and wineries on the strip were out of season, meaning that we missed out on a lot of perks and still had a good stay. We definitely plan to come back during the spring/summer.

The wedding planning seemed a little chaotic (a rehersal for the next day wedding ran into the pictures for the current day wedding) but that may have been a communication problem between the venue and the photographer?!?!

Room Tip: A lake view room is definitely worth booking. A walkout balcony is always pleasant!

My husband and I stayed at the Lodge this past weekend for the Oktoberfest beer tasting & dinner. We had a wonderful time and both wished we could have stayed longer. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. The Great Lakes beer tasting & dinner was fun and delicious. Our King room was clean, neat and very comfortable. I slept very comfortably which does not happen often when I am away from home. The grounds were beautiful and breakfast the next morning (which happened to be included in our package) was wonderful.

Spent a relatively short weekend at the Lodge with some friends for a wine-tasting excursion evening --- which was a lot of fun itself.
We had asked to all be on the same floor when making reservations and were told that it would be done ... found out we were on different floors at check-in but the desk staff jumped through a number of hoops and got us moved so that we were all nearby ... with smiles on their faces the whole time ... very courteous and professional while helping us out.
Sunday brunch was a little strange, as all six of us ordered omelets ... not sure what happened but we had to ask someone to check on our order after almost thirty minutes ... they told us we'd get our food any minute ... asked three more times over the next fifteen minutes, and then the food finally arrived ... the manager (wish I remembered her name) stopped by and told us that she was taking care of our check, which was some great customer service and much appreciated ... I would have thought that at the half-hour mark they might have just sent us up to the Buffet (where the omelet chef was standing idle for almost our entire wait), but her solution was certainly satisfactory ... in any event, I'd be pretty cautious about breakfast plans if you have a tight schedule.
All in all, a very nice stay. Decent rooms, great hotel service.

We stayed here for our anniversary last week, and we had a great time. I reserved the King/Jacuzzi room over the phone, and also got the Fall Harvest Bed and Breakfast package with it. Check-in was quick and easy, and I used the in room check-out with no problems either. We had dinner at Horizons and we thought everything tasted great on the buffet which also had a great dessert selection, and the staff in the restaurant were very friendly and attentive to anything we needed. We chose the breakfast buffet at Horizons the next morning which was delicious, and included a made to order omelet along with the many other selections, and we would definitely recommend it. Our room was clean and comfortable, and we had a nice view of the Lake from our 2nd floor room. We had great fall weather for going out and exploring the beaches, and some of the local wineries. We used the indoor pool and hot tub, and both were very relaxing. We stopped in the gift shop and made a purchase, and once again the staff was very helpful. We will be planning another trip back to the lodge for sure, and we would like to thank the staff for making our anniversary a very special time. Keep up the great work

Stopped here for a quick overnight stay in early October on the way to Niagara Falls and Canada. So beautiful we decided to stay an extra night! We had a room in the pet-friendly wing just off the outdoor pool. Room had a sliding door which looked out on the lake. Easy access to walk the dog on the GORGEOUS path by the lake. Mattresses were VERY comfortable. Indoor pool was nice and warm and hot tub was great! The restaurant had a buffet which was a great value. We would DEFINITELY recommend this lodge and plan to return again next year!!!

Great location with nice views of Lake Erie. The rooms are a bit dated and worn, beds are uncomfortable. The Jacuzzi at the pool was out of order. Out bath tub drain plug did not work. We complained about it at the front desk and received an apology, but no one showed up to fix it (guess they didn't really care). Service in the bar was slow and non-existent in the restaurant (we finally got up and left and went off site for our breakfast). The place is certainly not inexpensive & we were definitely very disappointed in the value for price. Look for somewhere else to stay.

The lodge is a very nice property, clean, good food. However we were in room 165 (pet friendly) and the "new" mattress was horrible. It was not only soft but had NO support. Management had little to say except it was new...
Walking was very nice and most of the staff very friendly.

Room Tip: Ask for a firm mattress
