“Favorite old standbys”

We always take our grandkids here when we visit the area in the summer. Love their grilled chili dogs and the old-fashioned lemonade from DQ next door, the kind where they smash some fresh lemons with sugar...yum! They have the old fashioned stools right out on the street. Just a nostalgic spot with decent food.

“Where's the beef???”
Reviewed September 4, 2012

I have to agree that Eddie's does have that 1950's feel to the place, but their food and service has a lot to be desired. Yes, you do order from the counter by a number system and we did not have a problem with that. I ordered a sloppy joe, which really was not that sloppy, due to the lack of beef in it. I had more roll than ingredients. And speaking of ingredients, the "sloppy joe" wasn't homemade tasting at all. I think it was one of those pre-mixed large containers and all they did was heat it up. Yuck!! A hamburger was also ordered and again more roll than beef. The burger was so small and had no taste to it at all. We also ordered french fries and these were the frozen kind and were not even hot when we got them. We asked for extra chili sauce to dip our fries in and the woman at the counter said they do not do that. What is it you don't do? Provide customer service is what I think. Never again for us at Eddie's. Food not good and for the price people pay it should be.

Best known for their foot=long hot dogs, Eddies grills up a delicious cheeseburger! They have a pretty extensive condiment bar including just about every kind of pickle or pepper you could ever want. The fries are cooked perfectly, but a word of warning- one serving is plenty for two people. It's only opened during the summer, so if you're up in Geneva, stop by. Get a root beer while you're there. And there's a DQ adjacent, so there's your dessert if you have room left after your lunch!!

“A must visit when you are visiting Geneva on the Lake, Ohio”
Reviewed August 30, 2012 via mobile

I have waited three years for a footlong from Eddie's. Finally got one the last weekend of August 2012. Only open on weekends thru Labor Day. First footlong from here was 1955 and they ate still great. Love the toasted buns, awesome condiments, hot fries and frosty root beer. Open air atmosphere plus the jukebox has 100+ oldie-goldie selections. What's not to like? Well parking is limited :(.

“still a classic”

Eddie's hasn't changed in 50 years. A must visit at the lake. Food is good, maybe a bit overpriced, but worth it for the atmosphere . Sit on a stool and watch the people go by
