I was really surprised to find a hotel of this type in Jabalpur. Though it is believed to be a heritage property as it has been renovated and draws its name from a legendary hotel of the yore called the Jackson, it isn't exactly Heritage. Nothing of the old structure remains except for a few old photographs. I checked into the hotel as I was lured into the Heritage tag. The hotel , rooms and facilities are all very well appointed and at 4500/- rupees a night with breakfast, They also have a good multi- cuisine restaurant , an outdoor garden restaurant a bar , a gym and a small swimming pool. I would say it was good value for money. In a bigger city a hotel of this type would not cost less than 10,000/- a night. In my latest series of exploration of the tier two and tier three cities in India I am amazed at the way infrastructure has improved over the last decade ,more so in the last five years. The impact of globalization and trade is evident everywhere. I am seeing an ever increasing number of well travelled Indians even in small towns who were already enterprising enough. The travel is bringing in exposure and ensuring international class infrastructure . The penetration of the MNCs in smaller towns is also helping push up the benchmark . The local entrepreneurs are soon following suit and this is constantly improving the facilities and amenities in smaller towns.. Will continue to bring readers information from smaller towns and cities in India.

I visited Jabalpur recently after very long time (25 years) & stayed in same hotel.
It has changed completely - very modern & many facilities for buisness travellers.
even 25 years back it was known as Jackson Hotel & one of the old property developed before 1947. only ground floor & very large rooms & air coolers. many foreign tourists used to stay.
City Jabalpur has not changed much compare to other cities in india over last 25 years.

there are some images of old hotel in lobby.
I wish they should write some history & people who have stayed here.
I feel this could be best hotel in town at the moment.

Now it is two story modern construction with very palace kind of look.
it has health club ,spa & good restaurent

Room Tip: upper floor has less noise

Good hotel in a town with no greats options. Room was big, a little aged but ok. The room is not aged as we say for a thing that is near broke or with poor maintenance, is simply not the last wave. Room with a/c. Service is correct, not great. Restaurant is a diferent thing, great food, good service and advice, not all staff speak english, but some do and are enough. There are indian and western cuisine. Probably si more a business or convention hotel, but good enough for travelers.

Stayed there for 4 days, clean rooms, courteous and proactive staff. Good food, staff willing to always go the extra mile. They seemed proactive since my door bell rang at 6:00 am with coffee service as they knew I was checking out early for an 8:00 am flight.

I would recommend this place since it is tucked away in a better part of the city so no road noise ( very imp in this city). Since I have dust allergies this helps a lot. They have a clean swimming pool and spacious rooms.

We stayed here as our plane out of Jabalpur was cancelled due to Fog, used the Lonely Planet and we thought this would be a bit of luxury before we started on 18 hour train journey to Jaipur. Reception was very nice & luxurious we had a good impression. Rooms were very expensive and the room we had was on the stairwell and very noisy with doors opening/closing and walls were very thin - there was a tea room on our floor and all we could hear was music and the rearranging of furniture above our heads. Our friends had to change rooms as there room smelled of paint stripper. The sheets were dirty in our room and big let down in my opinion. The room was also very cold, our heating did not work and the decor in the rooms was outdated. We would not stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the stairwell

This is one of the better hotels in Jabalpur. Its situated close to the station and near the main city. The rates are a little steep. The room is decent and comfortable. The breakfast buffet spread was good. The service was upto the mark and the staff was courteous. The food is tasty and nice. They have a good variety in the menu. It is a good hotel for a business trip.

This is just an average hotel. overpriced a bit. the room which we stayed in was small, geyser was not working, some of the lights were not working.
the good thing abt this was the food. they also have this fastfood type of restaurant where they serve all type of food from pasta to noodles to idlis and kadi-rice.
overall not a true value for money.
