Grand Heritage Narmada Jacksons
Ranked #5 of 26 Hotels in Jabalpur
Reviewed November 21, 2011

We stayed here on a personal trip for 2 nights and this was our 4th stay in the hotel. This is still the best property in Jabalpur to stay. Please do not compare it with hotels in other cities which could be much better than this but in the available options, this is the best. Location is great, very near from Railway Station, just 12 kms from Airport, not much traffic around and it is in cantonment area which is the best part of Jabalpur. Rooms are spacious and food is good. Overall this is the only good property for stay at Jabalpur.

Room Tip: This is a heritage property, building is over 100 years old but well restored and maintained.

We got a little mislead by the ratings done before and landed in this hotel and were left dissatisfied.
When compared to all other indian hotels where we stayed (as acclaimed to be four star hotels), the staff was trained poor, restaurant was dirty and the room service was not satisfactory at al.
In a bedroom of two there was only one water bottle and no welcome tea or coffee, which is expected from a fourstar hotel and for the price you pay!
Some staff members were ringing on the door again and again, for small things (apparently wanted som tips), bringing us some toilet paper, and wanted to take some order for food even when we didnt ask for. That was a little annoying on arrival.
In the restaurant, some insects were freely moving around and I found a big red sand stone in the peanuts.
I will rate it as a three star hotel just for the looks in the lobby and corridors.

Why do I have to wake up at 7:30 am with some stupid Muzak that fills the whole hotel?
And please clean your tables, cuttlery and glasses in the restaurant. Welcome Group: you have a lot of coaching to do!
Staff at reception was kind and supportive. But I'm afraid this is poor value for money.

Staying at this little and when you enter realise a not so little hotel is that it's clean and neat and comfortable. Rooms are fine don't get the ones on the rear end or side some where in the 400 series as there is alot of shouting from the neighbour hood building. poor lights and that's something if you are not comfortable then ask them to change the room

The restaurant that we had tried was situated outside their main building but very nice good fresh food and accommodating friendly staff.

There is a shop with stuff which I don't really think they ever sold and could do with more items knowing that alotof people have a layover and are due to the jungle the next morning. This would definitely get some sales going. There is a veg cafe in the beginning of the property which actually for Jabalpur standard is good nice and variety of food, but spots and a little bit of uncomfortable sense starts creeping in of staff continuously staring ... Funny though

But good for the stay over when headed to the jungle as the night drive on the road is a little unnerving being Indian roads.

Cheers

Room Tip: The ones on the front side not on the rear as there is a lot of shouting from the building next door...

This hotel has been recently renovated. So everything is new, in working order and clean.

The staff was very helpful and helped in repairing my damaged suitcase. The house keeping staff is also excellent.

The buffet breakfast and lunch are great. The lunch is exceptional value for money.

The hotel refused to give any discount on the published tariff and the room is overpriced. The room service food is also very expensive. Wifi is free and that's great.

Overall a good place to stay in Jabalpur.
