Excellent ambiance, planned resort with breathtaking views, especially the Valley view chalets. Off from Madikeri but centre point for all the tourist spots. Very descriptive map with the routes given at the reception. Negative point - no directions at all to the resort. Big hoardings seen at the gate of the resort, can be placed at different locations in the district for easy accessibility.

Room Tip: Valley View chalets

We booked this resort for our Honeymoon. We stayed one day in Valley view chalets and one day in Tree house.

Below are the issues that we faced,

1)Rain water falling inside the room from top Roof in the night.
2) Can't make a Phone call to reception because they have unplugged the telephone due to rain. I called from my mobile eventhough no one picked. And i called to Banglore sales team and informed about it. After logn time the service guy came and cleaned the rain water. Worst Experice in our honeymoon night.
3)Hot water not worked.
4)Food was not good as they costed.
5)AC was not working in the Midnight.
6)Don't book for Tree house. It's not giving good feel as expected.
7)Moreover, Great Experice was "No water in the Tree house Toilet Tab".

Do not get fooled by reading nice reviews about this hotel. This hotel is a cheat. AVOID IT..

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your time and patience. Firstly, We are a resort situated amidst coffee plantation and in Coorg where uncertainty of Climate is very natural. Untimely rains in summer with heavy winds are just not controllable by us. We do not get rains which fall straight. It is carried by winds, hence falls horizontal and this seeps through the doors of the cottage, it was not through the roof, though not always.

Secondly, telephone lines are off during heavy rains and lightning as our learned guest may have not realised that lightning is hazardous and life threatening. This is only till the rain stops. During rains usually people don't venture out.

Thirdly, the rains had brought down the trees which inturn fell on the electrical pole. This was informed to you by our staff who came to clean your balcony and door step. and he also mentioned that you were supported by gensets. The genset does support all including geysers.

Our previous reviews have always stated that the stay on the tree top is the most romantic and memorable. We also have a couple who has proposed to his fiance on the Tree house. Unfortunately you are the only one who cannot appreciate the uniqueness and beauty of the stay here.

Regards

We booked two Mountain View Rooms for 2 nights in mid April 2014. The charm of this resort lies solely in its location. Perched high on the mountain it offers breathtaking views of valley especially early mornings with the mist rolling in. The drive was quite an adventure through scenic coffee plantations. Service was a another plus point at the resort. Rohit Naidu went out of his way to make our stay comfortable by offering good suggestions for road trips, personally inquiring about our day and making special meals for sick members of the group. The extra attention was truly apprectiated and he is definitely an asset to the property. Food was good. Rooms were basic but clean. I would highly recommend it for a short stay to get away from the chaos of the city.

We stayed in Valley view Rooms, which has an excellent view. Mr. Lolith Naidu (F&B manager) is excellent at hospitality, any problem just tell him and he will cater it effecitenly. One biggest reason to stay with Porcupine.

We stayed in Valley View Chalet for 2 Nights w.e.f. 14.04.2014 to 16.04.2014. There were no complaints with respect to the staff courtesy or taste or hygiene. We spent the day relaxing at the resort. A very nice view of the scenic beauty of the Valley & Mountain ranges from the balcony of the room. Every Valley View chalet shares a long balcony with another one with seating arrangements for each room. Breakfast was served from 0830 and it was a decent spread. I liked the fruit juice and the south Indian items like Idly, Vada, Ravva Upma & Vermicelli Upma as well as bread omlette. In the evening we decided to get into the swimming pool and that was actually a pleasant experience. For the 2 nights that we had spent in the resort, they could not arrange bonfire as it rained heavily. Stay in Porcupine Castle was like a stay in a Hill Station experiance with great view of scenic beauty / greenary around. Intercom System in the Porcupine Castle needs upgradation. Wifi coverage was good in the lobby but no coverage to rooms.

Room Tip: 1) People who are interested in drinking, please note that resort menu doesn't have anything wit...

Let me share a honest review about this resort..... I am still in resort and writing this review

Good things about this resort are view from premium valley view room and swimming pool at cliff.

Worst are.....long wait for room service, food at restaurant not that good and upon that the telephone at premium room is not working from last 2 days since our checkin and day after tomorrow we are checking out. Worst thing is that at premium room our room lock was not working and literally we struggled to get repaired.

I would not recommend for family and couple to stay herein.

Dear Guest,

Acknowledging the enthusiasm to share a feedback when in the property. You may have also understood the terrain and the pulse of the place.

1. The lock of this room was changed and replaced within an hour once brought to our notice.

2. About the service, the person who has served you is the best in service and has been acknowledged by many a groups. Our room service menu also requests for a 45 min preparation time once ordered. Our staff also has conveyed this to you.

3. We do not claim ourselves as a starred property, we have extended our homely hospitality. When we are blessed with evening and night showers our terrain does not permit room service. Inspite of this we have done a service to you within an hour.

4. For your information you are the only guest who has a negative feedback for us on the same days.

Thanks once again.
