Golden Harvest Homestay

The property is located at the core of nature. It was drizzling all along our journey which made the view and stay more enjoyable. The nature was at its best.
The homestay is very well maintained. Good space is available inside the property to relax and play. Good place to relax. Sit outside the room to have a breadth taking view of green fields and nature all around with birds chirping.
Location is good, since it is close to Irpu falls, Mrutyunjaya temple, Tata tea farms & Nagarahole national park. River rafting is available nearby (7kms) from this place.
Mr. Nachappa and his mom were great hosts with highest degree of hospitality. Food was good, freshly cooked and served hot always.

Golden Harvest Homestay was a great little house in the middle of Coorg, and our group of 12 had a wonderful time over new years eve. It's recommended for anyone who is looking for a peaceful getaway, near coffee and tea plantations. Some of the positives and things to know are below:

Positives:

- The Nachappa family is amazingly helpful, friendly and always smiling! They took care of all our needs, always happily.
- The home cooked food was delicious and plentiful
- The scenery from the cottage is beautiful
- Nice space for bonfire, and group activities
- Neat and clean rooms and bathrooms

Things to know (and potentially to improve):

- The access roads are very bumpy and not paved properly, so getting there is a bit tiring
- I wish the property had a neater and cleaner kitchen!
- It would be much more appealing if they developed a living room for bigger groups, where they can hang out during the day. There is some outdoor space, but would be nice to have an indoor "living area"
- Even though the outdoor area is nice for bonfires etc, it would be good to have some grassy spots to sit outside, or some more comfortable seating around the bonfire.

Overall, everyone had a great experience, and we recommend this place to groups who are looking to spend some time together, outside of a city, with beautiful scenery!

Many thanks to Mr. Nachappa, his family and Ranjini for helping us plan this trip and taking care of everything!

Travel to the destination had challenges as roads are not great. Once inside the property, all the tireness is gone. Place is the best kept in natural environment. The PROS are, property is surrounded by Coffee and Paddy Plantations. There are 3 rooms. Rooms have the BEST view possible. Rooms are very neat and clean and are LARGE. The owners are very nice folks. Food is cooked in local cuisine which is a change. Good for family. There are other places to see nearby. CONS is that road upto property is little rough, which is about 1km.
We would definitely recommend it to families and groups of individuals.

Room Tip: rooms on the bottom have a great view.

The place well placed in the pristine nature of Coorg. The rooms are neat and nice. Mr. Nachappa is very kind and helpful. Its near to couple of worth visiting places - Irpu Falls, River rafting near Irpu falls (though the river rafting was just average experience where not many great rafts are present as in Dandeli river rafting), etc. The place is maintained well. I would recommend this place to anyone who wishes to stay out of city life and enjoy the scenery.
One thing to note is that food was not that great (mainly vegetarian) on that particular day. Not sure about food on other days.
Hence, 4 out of 5!

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms.
