This was our first experience staying at a homestay and we loved it. We stayed for a night here. This place is right in the middle of lush greenery with beautiful view of hills, forest and paddy fields. Rooms are decent and clean. Loved the food there. Our host Mr Pradeep was really helpful and caring and his wife an amazing cook. Pradeep even took an extra effort to take us around in his jeep. He took us to misty mountains, tea plantations and streams near his home. Bonfire with yummy snacks arranged by the hosts was such a treat. Next morning we went for rafting at Barpole river which is around 7kms from this homestay. Rafting was really fun but finished in 25min. The only drawback was you can’t enjoy drinking till late at night in home stays as the dinner gets served at 10 and it doesn’t feel nice to make the hosts wait for you beyond 11.

We had a wonderful stay at Jungle side in the last week of Dec'10. This is one of the best homestays in South Coorg. Pradeep (the owner of Jungle side) takes extremely good care of his guests. Food is great and rooms are decent. This homestay is neatly tucked away and is very near to the forests bordering Karnataka and Kerala, which provides for excellent treks through the thick jungles. Irpu falls, Nagarhole safari and Barapole river rafting are also close by. The plantation walk and a trek to a nearby hill are also good. Surely a place worth visiting more than once! We loved it!!

Me and my friend were having our evening tea. With the workplace closed for Diwali vacation, we were discussing of the option to drive somewhere out of Bangalore... Could not finalize the place that night...

Next day we woke up early and packed out back packs and pushed off towards Mysore. By the time we reached Maddur, we have finalized the place to be Coorg. While having breakfast we called up some Homestay & Resorts in Coorg and could not find any vacancy.. Then we called up Mr Pradeep [Jungle Side] and explained him about our plan to stay/visit Coorg. We got the place to stay then. He also gave us some driving directions to reach the place..

On our way to the resort we finished the site seeing at Nagorhole National Park, and Irpu Falls.. The route was known to me till Shettygeri. From there it's little complicated.. but locals were very helpful to guide us the way.. We reached the Jungle Side in the late afternoon.

The place was just awesome in midst of coffee plantation and hills... the mist and cloud made it even more serene and untouched. The hospitality of Mr Pradeep and his whole family made it even more special..

Next day we went out for a small trek to coffee plantation and then for river rafting...

Enjoyed the stay with the best of the food and silence of the nature.. This is first time in my life i had a silent Diwali.. and it was just wonderful..

We were a group of 8 friends who decided to do a bike trip to Coorg. Jungleside was suggested by a friend.
We were greeted by Mr. Bollera Muthanna the owner of Jungle Side.
The homestay is set amongst beautiful mountains, lush green paddy fields and numerous fruit trees. The rooms are clean & well furnished with proper bedding and the bathroom has hot water (This is a real blessing as it gets really cold in the evenings and the power is almost never there!).
The food is amazing for both vegies and non vegies! Muthanna gives you the best Coorgi delicacies including Pandi Curry & Akki Roti, Koli Curry & Nool Puttu and the list goes on!
Muthanna arranged an adventurous White Water River Rafting for us. In the night we had a nice camp fire and that really did help us warm up!!
Mornings at Jungelside is a heaven! Wake up a little early and go for a stroll around the property. There are a numerous varietys of birds that you can easily spot because of the fruit trees. There is also a small stream where you can sit around and spend hours thinking of nothing!
If you are looking for an great home stay with great value for money, GO FOR JUNGLESIDE!

We were here just for a night, but had a pleasant experience with very good hospitality and food. The manager was very friendly and took us to trek and a visit to his plantations and field..that was quite helpful to come closure to the understanding of local Coorg. Food was very good, they really made a good combo when we asked them for less masala home kind of food as we didnt want to have spicy stuff after eating at highway restaurants all day.. the breakfast had coorg special rice chapatis and they also served honey and ghee along with other stuff.
The view in the morning is scenic with rice fields and mountains in the backdrop. You can trek nearby and ask the manager to guide you to a good mountain view trek
