“Very good heritage hotel”
Reviewed November 13, 2013 via mobile

This hotel has been carefully restored and maintained to a high standard. Our room was large with a spacious though relatively basic shower room and the bed was extremely comfortable. We enjoyed the food very much and the staff were attentive. Take a walk in the nearby village if you don't mind the curious stares!

This hotel was great. We stayed in the Mews rooms which were huge and very well appointed. Good bathrooms, comfy beds, excellent food. The breakfast and lunch were served near the plunge pool under the mango trees, a lovely setting. At dinner, which the first night was served on the lawn, there was live music. The first night a bagpipe band and the second a lone flautist., Very evocative. You can walk through the hotel grounds to Pragpur Heritage Village. This was interesting but the nearby village of Garli seemed more authentic to us. Nothing negative to say about Judges Court,

During a 5 week trip to India we stayed 16 different establishments. This place was, in our opinion, the best of them. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, the service is excellent and the food we had was good. The idea of having a "cocktail hour" before the evening meal is good and promotes guests mixing. The home grown produce is well used in the food. Service is excellent and the breakfast as good as any we had. Great experience.

This small family run hotel is a must if you are in the area. The place is clean, the staff are friendly and efficient. The food is extremely good. The hotel is in a quiet location and they take pride in the fact that all the produce is cultivated in their own grounds.

Room Tip: We had a room in the annex which we recommend.

The Judges Court is absolutely worth a minimum of 2 nights stay. Rooms are spacious, old English luxury, nice bathrooms. Really nice place to relax! The food is ok, however, not special. There's enough choice on the buffet, however, too much adaptation to "western" taste made it taste quite flat. Breakfast is good and staff is very flexible getting up early in case of need for an early leave. (we still got served complete breakfast possibilities.)

Room Tip: Connaught room is lovely!

When I was booking the place, I was sceptical that is the place really the worth. When we finally reached there, it was just amazing and it was a great experience. The hotel is one of the old buildings converted into a hotel and a very great job done to convert the place.
The rooms are huge and done up really well and the service is fantastic. The food was just too good, really refreshing to find continental food so well cooked in a remote place like that.

The only downer for the place is the breakfast which has limited variety and doesnt do justice to the price and the hotel where lunch & dinner is so sumptuous.

Room Tip: Must stay if you are travelling by road from delhi / chandigarh to Dharamsala.

This hotel was our home for a few days in the middle of a Ladakh to Amritsar trip, which required a lot of driving. Once here we hated to leave; it was so beautiful, comfortable, and non-hotel like. Food was outstanding, and the chef fixed some local specialties just for us. On our last day he made up a lovely breakfast table for us on the patio, having noticed we like to have our coffee there. The receptionist gave us good ideas for memorable day trips to an ancient Hindu temple and India's first heritage villages. The house is full of interesting info about the original owner, and the living rooms and spacious porches downstairs and up were ideal for perusing the books from their collection. We heard that an American couple had just spent weeks there, and could easily understand why! It was our favorite place in a month-long trip.

Room Tip: Our room was spacious and light, with a great bay window overlooking garden.
