You have to climb so so so many stairs o reach Bijli Mahadev Temple and when ever I am in Kullu during Monsoons, I make sure to visit the temple. It is one of the best places in Kullu because I like to walk up hills to reach there. Once I am at the top the entire Kullu town looks magical from there. The lush green Top is beautiful and one can easily spend hours there. The only disappointment I had was that there were so many shops and cafe and tourists ... It was better earlier when all you could see was natural splendor not the small shops selling chips, maggi and prasad etc.

i was there during monsoon with my friends. we started from kullu by mini bus upto the Chansari village...The roadside view was amazing. Both side of roads covered with apple trees..apples were fallen on the road at some part of the journey...After reaching the stoppage of bus, the view of kullu will win ur heart...really beautiful...It was the time to start our journey of Bijli Mahadev by treking...there is not any other option in monsoon season...It was raining heavily as we started treking..but we continued...we all were very excited...After covering 2 Kms, we didn't find any end...so we were little disappointed...There was not anyone to guide us...We were alone in this trek....Suddenly a lady came to us and told that some 1 and half km more is to be covered...then we again started our journey....it was still raining and we were enjoying the rain so much....Finally we reached at top....we saw temple situated at distance of 1 km...Puja related material was being sold at 2-3 temporary tent type shops...we bought it and worshiped Bijli Mahadev...The temple is so old but bautiful....it was made up of wood..After Puja, we went to Langar, organised by some Bhakt near the temple...I must suggest u that if u r planning to visit Bijli Mahadev then please do join langar...the taste of food was awesome specially kheer...u can take away the kheer if u want...thanks the organiser of Bijli Mahadev Langar
It was the journey i always miss.....i want to be there again....

i started the journey from kullu to chansari village by bus (from where the small but sort of difficult trek starts)
when i started to trek the distance of 3 km (that is the length of trek, almost) seemed small but hills always surprise you with their distances i guess they should get some other distance measuring units specifically designed so , so that it may let us know the difficulty of trek as well as the length
any ways
in between i felt like... OK lets go back i don't want to do this (if you think same while trekking up.... don't , do what ever's necessary just don't go back)
when I finally reached there , up on the top of the hill, where the temple is.
i thanked and blessed my self for not listening to my own self when i thought of going back from the half way
views are awesome
this place has panoramic view of one side over kullu valley from where you can see birds eye view of kullu vally, buntar and on other side you may see manikarn-kasol valey
i loved the place
and will visit their soon

Bijli Mahadev had been in my bucket list since the first time i had visited Manali. Having heard about it a lot, we decided we will make a visit to this place soon. Finally this time we planned a trek to BIjli Mahadev. Since we were staying in Kais, our trek plan from kullu changed into off-roading in the Gypsy via Kais Sanctury. Although the ride shook us completely we don't regret it a bit. this ride will take you through a beautiful jungle also known as kais sanctuary. you can take breaks from the difficult ride and just walk a bit for sometime before resuming the ride. But beware there might be animals around since its a sanctuary. Nevertheless the walk is worth the risk :)
After two hours of that ride what awaits you is a beautiful panoramic view on top of the hill with a small temple surrounded by greenry all around.
After visiting the temple, we just sat at the vast lush green grass overlooking the entire Kullu valley, bhuntar airport. While one side you can see Beas, the other side of the temple gives you a view of Parvati valley.
The temple is one of the oldest and has a very unique story attached to it.
Unlike other temples, its clean and not crowded. Since both the trek and the ride is a little difficult hence not many people around.
After your visit to the temple, you can have some nice meals at the food joints there.
Incase interested, you can also hire tents there for night camping.

while going back we decided to trek down from the other way in order to have the taste of both the sides.
The trek down is easier than the ride as there are steps made and you just have to keep stepping down. You can ask your driver to drop you at the temple and pick you up from the kullu side.

Overall a beautiful sight with no crowd and unnecessary noise.

I love this temple. We had to trek for an hour to reach the temple from where we parked our car. Best scenic location. Peaceful. Beautiful is not the word. I just loved this place. Its worth the effort and though trek could be little tiring, but one can sit at small cafes on the way. The best is to leave early morning to reach here to avoid the traffic. You could see the entire Kullu from here.
