“Tree House Cottage---Manali”
Reviewed July 13, 2013

Manali tree house cottage....i GOT THE DETAILS OF THIS WONDERFUL COTTAGE FROM THE NET. We visited the place in May 2013 and the experience was mind blowing in each and every respect. Manali tree house cottage is a beautiful place, actually an orchard which is having a wide variety of trees mainly consisting of Apple, Walnut and plum trees. You can see the Majestic mountains without going anywhere. The owners did not crowd the place with too many cottages. They built a few cottages, strategically placed so that each occupant has his own privacy. The cottages are excellent, clean and pristine having all the modern amenities,it even has a fully functional Kitchen, The tree house is ACTUALLY built on a live tree and the scenic beauty of that place is something which you should yourself experience. You will find one thing in abundance in this place,PEACE and BLISS.The Beas river is quite far from this place but if you listen carefully you can hear the roar of the river and you become one with the nature.
The owner,Mr Ambrish, is a very nice person. The home made Breakfast and Dinner was awesome .We had a perfect holiday and in future also we will be visiting this great place because Manali Tree house cottage is an sweet addiction.

Thank you Mr.Ambrish, for your hospitality that you have extended yo me and my family during the stay in Tree House Cottage, Manali.

The estate is really beautiful and the trees are incredibly laden with the choicest of fruits (in June-July). However, we chose to stay in the Swiss tents as all other cottages were occupied and we were promised 'luxurious tents' and were disappointed.

For a start, the tent is surrounded by roads on three sides - one within the estate leading to the reception and not even 4 meters away. Other one outside at 10m distance and curves around the tent. Anyone who has been in a tent knows that it is practically as good as sleeping in the outside as far as sounds go. So, we heard cars moving, people talking and an occasional honk through the night. The bathroom area of the tent is not sealed from the outside world and expect to be greeted by 200 excited moths and bugs and beetles the size of your thumb if you leave the bathroom lights on. The TV didn't work.

All in all, it felt like sleeping on a busy footpath at times. For the price, we could have got a comfortable room with a valley view including good sleep. Hence, won't recommend it.

We are sorry our guests did not ultimately find the tent accommodation to their liking although they had checked out the property before. On their second day they were offered discounted cottage rooms but chose to stay on in the tent. We were unaware that the TV was not working and had they informed us (there is an intercom in the tent) it would have been repaired immediately. The estate, including the tent and cottages, is situated within orchards and in proximity to local villages. It does not claim to be in some remote camping site.(Approach road in the campus is not a public road.. only our guests use this road) .. Hence there could be occasional local traffic noises and yes, tents do not block out noise very well.

It is nearly impossible to have Nature without bugs, especially at the height of the monsoon season! We try our best to keep them out and have succeeded with the main tent which is completely sealed. However, bugs do manage to get into the bathroom annex tent. Maybe we should have advised our guests not to leave the lights on in the bathroom. However, the point is well-taken and we will be considering other measures to keep bugs out.

Manali tree house cottage was recommended to me by my brother who is a die hard fan of this wonderful and popular resort. We visited the place in April 2013 and the experience was mind blowing in each and every respect.Manali tree house cottage is a beautiful place, actually an orchard which is having a wide variety of trees mainly consisting of Apples and plum trees. It is a sight to behold...GREAT!!!You can see the Majestic mountains without going anywhere. The owners did not crowd the place with too many cottages. They built a few cottages, strategically placed so that each occupant has his own privacy. The cottages are excellent, clean and pristine having all the modern amenities,it even has a fully functional Kitchen, (They also have a Big Generator in case of power cuts). The tree house is ACTUALLY built on a live tree and the scenic beauty of that place is something which you should yourself experience. You will find one thing in abundance in this place,PEACE and BLISS.The Beas river is quite far from this place but if you listen carefully you can hear the roar of the river and you become one with the nature.
The owners,Mr Ambrish and Mr Rakesh are brothers who work as a unit to make you feel at home. The home made Breakfast and Dinner was awesome .We had a perfect holiday and in future also we will be visiting this great place because Manali Tree house cottage is an sweet addiction.

P.S....Got an email from my brother stating that Manali tree house cottage has been selected as no 2 amongst the Top 10 EXTRAORDINARY TREETOP HOTELS worldwide. The other 9 hotels are,Treetop,Sweden......Chateaux dans les Arbres,France......Hapuku lodge,New zealand......Pezulu tree house,South Africa.......Tree house lodge,Costa rica......,Chole Mjini lodge,Tanzania........Ariau Amazon Towers Hotel,Brazil...........Tree house point,Washington,USA..........Saraii Village ,Sri lanka.

The Resort has a few cottages and a tree house. We were with young kids so we opted to "live on the tree" as my son put it.
Pros:
1. Well, you are staying on a tree !!
2. Beautiful View.
3. Excellent Hospitality.
4. Food is simple, not too spicy, the kind you get at home.

Cons:
1. No Non-veg. ( Can be ordered from nearby restaurant.)
2. The 'Tree Room' is a bit small ( but then you really cant expect a suite up there :)

On the whole a pleasant experience. Kids absolutely loved it.

it was indeed a memorable experience in the natural surroundings, extremely comfortable cottages and home cooked food . Nice sight seeing around far from the maddening manali crowd. But surely i would visit next time with eatables as it had a fully functional kitchen to cook on your own

Room Tip: Cottage Number 1 is good
