Our last destination of our private 12 days tour of himachal starting from Shimla - Manali- Dharamshala and ending at Dalhousie. Its a tremendous place to eat ,drink and laze around. The climate was just about chilly to make you feel cozy and nice.
With regards to the hotel well It’s one of the best properties in Dalhousie. The first thing you notice about the hotel is its old-world charm. The building is a 19th century one with genuine pine wood flooring. The hotel makes u comfortable and keeps u warm with its wooden interiors built during the British era. It is very close to the main market and bus stand. The rooms are clean, provided with room heaters and dim lights which maintain a cozy atmosphere. Room service is prompt and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Apparently Anil Kapoor and Manisha Koirala stayed in this hotel during the shooting of ‘1942- A love Story’ as told by locals. sunny deol starer Gadar was shot here.
The best part is…FOOD. I just loved the food. Every item in the buffet was excellent. …especially the sweet dishes. Lot of variety for vegitarians . They even packed us our morning brakfast for our journey as we had to leave early
Gandhi chowk which is the main market is very close to the hotel. “Kwality Restaurant” in the market is also owned by the same people…and has awesome food at reasonable rates.
They have a movie club, spa, jacuzzie, Pool Table etc for entertainment and relaxation
The service staff is so friendly that after sometime they start identifying you which room you are residing in. The hotels owner personally supervises food and other services. The car has to be parked on opposite road parking lot because they do not have entry for vehicles. One surprsing element was the luggage is manually transported from the car to your room irrespective of weight size and quantam of luggage. Hats off to those guys it was truly amazing.
The view from the room is awesome…with snow peaked mountains staring at you. It also has garden area and Children’s park.
All in all truly amazing place to reside in nothing to complain about

This friendly hotel is a beautifully maintained place with a long facade of wood and glass leading onto a garden, terrace; the Himalayan snow peaks seem within touching distance.

Spread in a 3 acre estate, Grand View Hotel is ideally located in the heart of Dalhousie, a 5 minute walk from the Mall and very close to the Tourist Bureau and The Dalhousie Club.

It was a great kick-off for our Himachal trip. We had wonderful 3 days during our stay at Grand View. The view from the room is awesome…with snow peaked mountains staring at you. It also has garden area and Children’s park. Recreational activities like bon fire, housie, couple games, games for kids, etc were arranged by the management during our stay.

The best part is…FOOD. I just loved the food. Every item in the buffet was excellent. …especially the sweet dishes. Lot of variety for both veggie lovers and non-vegetarians. Gandhi chowk which is the main market is very close to the hotel. “Kwality Restaurant” in the market is also owned by the same people…and has awesome food at reasonable rates.

In short …a great place at reasonable rates…True value for money
