“No animals!”
Review of Assam State Zoo

Assam State Zoo
Reviewed May 21, 2013

Animals are dead, unclean, the botanical garden is closed down, I don't think the elephant thing is still working, and we need proper signboards to show us the way, so that we can explore!! Are the juice shops still working??? Because we loved them!

Definitely a natural zoo, my interests was more to get a close look at the one horned Rhino, and I am happy to get that opportunity. There were other animals, but the heat in the city prevented me to roam around.

This zoo I visited in earlier visit in 1996. Situated in Guwhathi, it is in vast expense of area, and has large space for animals. It can be visited by both city buses and other local transport.

It can be tiring if you have aged people and young children with you and you should keep extra our so that you can relaxedly visit the place. It is a nice place to be visited.

This is a natural zoo in the city where you find Asiatic lions and other animals found in India. The scenic beauty of the open zoo is good. Animals are not in cages but free to move around.

Caught out in Guwahati by a public holiday which closed most attractions, we visited the Zoo. Although a bit depressing in so far as 'scenic beauty' and attractive gardens, there is a good collection of local animals including asiatic lions, tigers, a variety of small cats and some nilgai. The animals are in fairly good condition, although some of the enclosures are less than ideal.
