The Ginger brand is well known all over India for its quality service at a reasonable rate. But there is a catch point; there rooms are on a smaller side.
If you are coming to Guwahati and don't mind spending time away from the crowed, you will love this place. As the previous reviews said, there’s nothing in the vincity except two government offices. In case you like to stroll around hotels for buying knick knacks, you won't find anything nearby. The advantage however is clean unpolluted air, quietness and pleasant breeze to make anyone feel relaxed.
Mode of transportation to and from the hotel to the city centre would be anywhere around half an hour to fifty minutes depending on traffic conditions. Other than hotel made arrangement, mode of transportation is auto or local version of tuk tuk. Public buses and trekkers also ply on the main road to hotel. For emergency, there is a very good private nursing home nearby, you can have yout tooth polished here in case there’s time to kill.
As for the rooms, they are clean, well equipped but terribly small. As long as you don’t have any problem with the cramped space, you should enjoy your stay.
The hotels breakfast choice is limited but tasty. The restaurant has choice and variety and lively, as its in the lobby itself.
Unlike most hotels, the Ginger staff is young, smiling, full of energy and eager to help, so you would feel very welcome.
I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a quiet and refreshing night in the city.
