We ( myself and my wife) stayed at this place on 18th Dec, 2012 night as we were heading towards Delhi after a short tour in Assam and Meghalaya. We reached this hotel around 7 pm and it took a while to reach this hotel as this is located in a typically crowded area of any city in India, near a busy Railway Station. Luckily, it was not raining! Otherwise, it could have made the travel further difficult. The hotel is an ordinary, clean, and tidy hotel. The room size is small and the rooms are provided with very dull lighting which made reading very difficult. We had dinner and breakfast. The food is usual multicuisine available in most of the normal hotels in India, a combination of all usual north indian and chinese dishes. Nothing extra ordinary. But it was also not bad... standard.

As there are no chain hotels in this part of India ( like Oberoi, Taj or ITC or Sarovar ), one has left with no choice.

Room Tip: All rooms are noisy through out the night!

..stayed here during a business trip ... located near railway station ...you can just half an hour to your travel time during morning & evening .... with respecyt to service ...even more pathetic .... with all regards to Dr Salim Ali ...ornithology never excited me ...specially when these birds are in your hotel bathroom .... chirping in the night ...flying over closets ... hiding in small holes through which she probably came .... and the hotel staff cant help as the 'hotel is fully booked' .... the excuses that they came up with can certaining impress Priyadarshan to make another mind less crap ... but as guest you only end up suffering .... one of the bitter experience of Guwahati .... and hey by the way the hotel boasts of ... the worst gym that i ever used

I stayed in this hotel on my way from Bhutan. I only stayed one night and the hotel was nice and clean. Being a single female I had two very strange experiences for future travelers to be aware of. The first is that I got a phone call very late at night asking how I was going to pay for my room service charges. Which woke me up and was very odd.... The next day when checking out the man at the front desk was trying his hardest to scam me. He kept trying to get me to pay for the room again that was pre paid and when that didn't work he tried to over charge me for my food. His attitude changed when a man from my tour group approached. He kept shuffling papers and stalling in hopes I would be late to get to the air port and would just pay. Nice place to stay but if your a female and alone, just be very wary.....

The hotel is located at a busy suburb and unfortunately even on the 8th floor you can hear the traffic outside till pretty late in the evening and from early morning. However, thats the only downside. the upside is the hotel is professional, the rooms are great, the restaurant is pretty good. Service is very professional. Location is great considering its central location in the city. Checked out other hotels and none came close.

Nice hotel in a location in the heart of the city. If you are coming from the airport, allow an hour due to the traffic. Staff were gracious and attentive but not intrusive. Room was spacious for a hotel of this category. Food was good. Probably one of the cleanest bathrooms I've seen in India. Maybe I am obsessive, but I do notice if grount and caulk in the bathroom is clean and free of mildew. Nice coffee bar and exercise room. WiFi is free but not too fast, so it took a while to upload a 2 meg file. Cable TV offered programs in Hindi, and English. They provided access to a couple of English language newspapers, important as there have been some disturbances in this state and a traveler needs to be aware of potential security issues. I would stay in this hotel again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room higher up that is away from the road. View may not be so nice, but it is quieter.

The best business hotel in the heart of Guwahati's commercial area, Kiranshree is the best option for the a day or two business visit. The rooms are small but neat. The restaurant is also not very swank, but the food is tasty. The hotel staff is friendly and one can easily get hired cars from the reception at good costs.
So don't expect a swanky five star hotel, but a decent business hotel which will take care of your needs in Guwahati.

I visited in June on a business visit and was pleasantly surprised by the interiors and overall service. The rooms were very clean and neat. After Dynasty (where my boss stayed), I will always prefer this hotel. Only thing is that if you order tea they make one of milk and need to be told to make a water based tea. Food was good as well and cooperation extended to unusual requests.
