Hi, I recently stayed at Kiranshree Portico, Guwahati. My take is its not value for money. The kind of tarriff charge, I had higher expectation. The rooms are clean but not as spacious as they should be looking to what they charge. The room service is lousey. They take hell of a time to service you, but the food quality is good.

The rooms were clean & spacious, the buffet lunch and dinner were good with sufficient variety of veg & non-veg options to choose from. In room service was casual, it took 45 min to get our order served. The hotel is located in the market area which is a blessing in disguise. Blessing for visitors who want to try their taste buds on the local food, check out the local outfits and disguise to the sleep lovers as the hotel windows are not noise proof. Their sleep would constantly be interupted by the traffic noise outside. Has a cosy bar but does not restrict smoking hence a pain for non-smokers.The washrooms were not properly lit & the toiletries were also not of good quality. The morning tea was just awesome not obviously because its a tea state but was genuinely well prepared. All in all would recommend it for shorter stays but not for longer stays. A good family hotel. Certainly better than other hotels in the same vicinity.

Room Tip: Rooms at higher floors would be a better choice as those might have less disturbance from the traffic noise outside

On my last visit to Guwahati, I stayed at Hotel Kiranshri primarily because of the favourable reviews on this site!

The 8-storey building – which looks like a huge white carton of cornflakes – completely dwarfs the old single and double storied structures around it. The interior is new and sparkling clean, with light colours providing a cool and spacious feeling. The rooms are pleasant and spacious with minimalist furnishing.

My room had three attractive looking chairs, which turned out to be quite uncomfortable to sit on! Another shortcoming was the low level of lighting. The toilet was cool and spacious and it was equipped with a large bathtub.

There was only one restaurant located on the second floor. Its ambience was cool and relaxed, with live music. The service at dinner was slow, but the excellent quality and variety of the food made it tolerable. Buffet breakfast was served at the same restaurant. The spread was quite good and the service was brisk.

This hotel, which seems to be popular with families as well as business travellers, is a good choice for staying in a clean and modern environment.

I have recently stayed at this hotel and found to be very nice.
It is located in the close vicinity of Railway station and taxi stand.Taxis from airport stop just opposite to this hotel and the Shillong taxi stand is also near by.
The hotel is centrally air conditioned , rooms are spacious and furnished with all amenities. The hotel thoughtfully provides a fresh fruit basket, cookies, and Tea coffee maker.
Breakfast spread is very good and food is tasty. The staff of the hotel are very helpful and cordial.
The only minus point, according me was the sitting arrangement in the room. The chairs are very uncomfortable, without cushion in the back rest.Guests who are on business visits, would like to conduct business discussions and need better sitting arrangements.I hope the management looks into this.
There is a business center in the lobby and complimentary WiFi. But I found WiFi connection in the room little erratic and slow.
It works fine in the lobby at the business center.
All in all, nice place and value for money.
