The best location within the price tag. It has a private flat beach and the property is just by the side of it. During low tide you can walk 2kms without having ankle length water. The beach is clean and view of the sunrise is wonderful. The bike rental is just outside the gate and the shop offers basic day-to-day/travel needs starting from toothpaste, soap, shampoo, basic medicine to small cake/biscuit. We stayed in the AC Super Deluxe cottages - which is big, having large window (offers spectacular view), mini freezer and coffee/tea maker etc. The biggest plus is price, I bet you wouldn't manage to stay similar accommodation within havelock with such moderate budget.
The list of cons also moderately high - The most difficult was getting it booked, they have a big messy and out-of-date process (at least when I booked in 2016), which requires bank draft to be sent over India post and multiple follow-up (unless some local travel agents agreed to book on your behalf). Secondly the service reminds you that it is run by the govt, which means most of the time intercom doesn't work and they aren't either bothered much to your problem. The last but not the least is restaurant - it is pretty basic with fixed menu, I wouldn't recommend having any meal here unless you don't like to walk neither have a transport arrangement.More
