This is a place with spectacular view of teal and greenish color ocean and beautiful white sand.... Cottages are specious and nice.... Food needs improvement... the resort looks beautiful at night in green lights... Sunrise can be enjoyed from balcony....

Recently we visited this place for our holidays, although information was not forthcoming, we got the rooms booked through a friend, On 19 Nov, the first day of the stay, we were given a deluxe room, the so called deluxe room was in a pretty bad condition with Flush,Geyser non functional and the blanket having a gaping holes due to cigarette burns. This was brought to the notice of the Manager, Mr Matthew. Who was apologetic and promised us of upgradation to Super Deluxe rooms, as the deluxe rooms were under renovation on the orders of the Lt Governor of A&N Govt, who was on an official Visit and whom we met at the resort.
The Super Deluxe room was unlike a government resort accommodation, with an expansive bed room with a sliding glass door which opened directly to the sea and a state of the art bathroom with touch sensor faucet and well maintained at that. what else could one ask for in a heavenly place like this.
The property boasts of it's own private beach.Although a lesser portion of the beach is available during high tide but during low tide a larger area is available for walks.
The resort boasts of a decent restaurant, you need to inform the restaurants crew in advance t cater for the meals, all three meals are vegetarian buffet, for non vegetarian dishes one needs to order in advance and the pricing of the restaurant is quiet reasonable, the restaurant staff too were very cordial.
Overall a wonderful holiday, the property deserves four star but for the issue of the condition of deluxe room on the first day.

Room Tip: Book in advance during peak tourist season of Nov-Feb and Opt for Super deluxe rooms facing the beac...

I visited there on 29th November 2013, I was really numb looking at the scenic beauty from the resort, it got a private beach too where you can spend ample time enjoying the beauty of the sea along with the pleasant breeze refreshing your mind. The rooms were huge and good too. The food is really awesome, specially the buffet system. All the persons serving the guests were very kind and polite. It was really a pleasant stay in Havelock.

We were there on 17th Nov and first day had ahell of an experience ,as we got rooms which were rotten , no hot water, toilet not working .Evening we came to know that the rooms will be demolished NEXT day !!!that's why no repairs ,were shifted to other rooms , which is better than any resort can provide ,that too at such low price ..Food was OK for the price , staff like Mr Mathew ,Anish , Anuragini was very courteous .Happened to meet Lt .Gov .in the evening who is said to be the brain behind all the new changes here , Any body who wants to stay a peaceful holiday with legs dangling in the sea right next to your cottage , this is THE place

I reached Havelock on 15 th of november with my wife, sister and mother. My rooms were booked 1 month back. The total idea of a government run resort and hotel changed seeing this resort and it will be unforgivable if I do not mention the friendly and always helping attitudes of the managers and staffs.
It is so neat and clean, the vast sea lying in front of eyes, full of greenery. The sea goes away from the hotel in morning and we could walk on the clear sandy beach. From evening it is full ,the water waves hitting the stone wall guard of resort and splashing sea water within. One day we sat on the benches in evening. It was full moon and was seeing the sea. we all are drenched with splashes of sea water. a marvellous experience.
From here i went for Scuba diving in the early morning at about 6 A.M. There are several centres for taking to scuba diving near the resort. Its a Life time experience.
If I go again I will surely stay in this resort and suggest my friends to stay and enjoy the beauty of havelock. But please do not forget to book early at least one month back through Andaman tourism.

Room Tip: they are all A/c. and cottage type. Please choose deluxe or semi deluxe A/C rooms.

Havelock island is my favourite island out of all the islands,I guess I will truly attribute this to The Dolphin resort, where I stayed. The location of this resort is excellent. One,while sitting in their cottage balcony can see the sea. Here I got to see various shades of the sea at the same time. The water here is crystal clear. There one can see atleast 5-6 shades. The gardens are well maintained and one can relax on chairs there.
The view from the resort will make you forget that you are in India.
Tip: It is Govt. owned. Don't let this be a fact deter you from choosing it.

Room Tip: Try to get cottages which are in front .Don't shy away from the fact that it is owned by Govt an...

People may shy away from it as it is govt. owned. But, trust me, this is got to be a great place to stay. Very nice cottages. Beach right in front. The managers are very warm. Food is not bad...though you have a few more non-veg restuarants outside the hotel. I would stay here again when I go to Havelocks.
