Awesome experience! Decided on this place after a lot of research. It turned out to be really good. Would recommend anybody to stay here! Beach on this resort is simply beautiful A few 5 steps from the shore, you will start seeing lot of colorful fishes. Water is greenish blue and you can take a walk on the shore. Its beautiful.

Stayed for 3 nights. Had booked AC cottages ( 3K per night). Realized there is no need for AC and shifted to non AC Rooms ( 2 K per night). One thing note is they don’t have a running kitchen. So you need to order food at least 1 hour in advance. But food is very good.
Ocean Tribe Scuba diving just next door. Barefoot Scuba diving is a few minutes’ walk. Strongly suggest that you go and talk to Barefoot Scuba guys as they have many snorkeling/fishing trips to many other islands. I did scuba with Ocean tribe. They were awesome and had a great experience!

Tips: Better to stay in this part of Island. You have series of resort and good accommodation option around 2K - 3K. Had dinner at Sea Shell Resort and ambience was super.

PS : My 10 day itinerary : 1N in Port Blair ( Divyum Manor) – 3N in Havelock ( Cross Bill resort) – 1N in Neil ( Tango Beach Resort)- 1N in Port Blair – 1N in Turtle Beach Resort Diglipur ( Covering limestone cave and Mudvolcano at Bratang on the way)- 1N at Rangat ( Covering Ross & Smith Island & Maya Bunder on the way) – 1N in Port Blair.

Room Tip: All rooms are same.

Cottages are just about 100m far from the beach which enables you to enjoy the awesome sunrise. It's not a 5 star property but everything is neat and clean that is what i liked the most. The staff are friendly and courteous. The owner or manager Dipali is very sweet and ready to take care of every need. Only thing it is lacking in is its restaurant, though i liked the breakfast very much. Whether travelling as a couple or family I would definitely recommend this property.

After visiting Maldives during September 2012 with my wife, I wanted to take my children also to the place to maldives or similar place like Maldives. Decided to visit Havelock Island during october 2012 school holidays. After going through Resorts available in Havelock, found CrossBill is the resort ideal for Budget travel and decent accommodation on Blue water Beach front. Accommodation is decent and food served was good. It is very small Resort of 10 rooms with basic facilities. Good room and food with reasonable rate and Beach view from Room Balcony is very attractive. Stayed here from 16th Oct 2012 to 19th October with my friend venkatarao family. We booked three rooms and really had good time. Ms. Sheela arranged vehicle for our trip and took care of us very well.

Took Scooba diving session with my children in Ocean Tribe which is adjacent to CrossBill and really enjoyed marine life & corals. After visiting Expensive Maldives trip, I felt trip Andaman is really worth. Best places to visit in Andaman are Elephant Beach for snorkeling & Radhanagar beach.

Things need improvement are providing hot water and some garden improvement in the resort.
Don't expect fancy things here but decent accomdation, food and very good blue water view during high tide.

Difference between expensive maldives resort and havelock island is that in Maldives we could see blue water view 24 hours because resort & givernement provided rock & sand fencing so that water level doesn't get reduced during low tide. Where as in Havelock beach we could see blue water & enjoy water only during high tide waves. During our visit we could enjoy high tide water from 7-30am to 1pm. Radhanagar beach was very good during low tide as well. So staying close to Radhanagar beach is advantageous for those who want to enjoy water all time.

Room Tip: Go for AC room, order food in advance & ask for hot water. Take two wheeler for rent and make...

Cross Bill resort located on the beach sands of Havelock island is the best you could ask for especially if you are a couple on your honeymoon trip. The location was picture perfect with palm trees, fine sands and pleasing sea.

Each cottage has a spacious bedroom, bathroom and a balcony. The cleanliness of the cottage is appreciable and if you need anything you can always call the maid. You can take a two wheeler from there to visit other beaches and resorts that offer adventure water sports like snorkelling, scuba diving and fishing.

There is a small restaurant within the resort from where you can order whatever you want and it will be brought to your room. The owner's daughter there is helpful and gives suggestions about the places you can visit.

I am a frequent traveller and for me the measure of any place is not just the luxury but value for money. There are basic minumum standards around service, cleanliess etc that I expect but beyond that, its important that the pricing is appropriate to what is offered.

Cross Bill Beach Resort is a very 'functional and no-frills' resort but when you are at a place like Havelock, the life is outside the room and not within. There are 10 rooms all very standard in size and neat and clean. Nothing plush but nothing bad either. The pure-white, talcum-powdery sand beach is just 50 mts from the resort with just a bank of coconut trees separating the beach from the resort.

The beach at this end is very clean, peaceful and fairly flat which means that you can walk quite a lot inside the sea yet be in just knee-deep water. The water is so blue and clean that you can see the nail-polish of your feet even in knee deep water.

The food within the resort is nothing great to write home about. We used to have all meals some where outside...just walk on the road and there are enough restaurants on either sides serving some superb dishes. If you are a sea-food lover, just gorge and gorge!

We spent our 2012 new year eve there and being on the peaceful beach at 12 midnight is etched in our hearts for ever!!!

Room Tip: Stay in any room - doesnt matter at all!

Stayed here with my daughter for 5 days in March 2012. Sheila, the owners daughter, is very friendly and helpful. Good location, reasonable room and bed, bathroom on the shabby side and not so clean. Convenient for diving with Ocean Tribes. Less pretentious then some of the other places with less to offer. Definitely a reasonable deal - you get what you pay for. I would stay here again. A little tip - buy fresh fish from the market at about 14:30 and take it to the restaurant opposite Cross Bill and the young couple who own the restaurant will make you a delicious dinner at a reasonable price.

Great hotel, great room, super clean, great size. Hot water at all time! The owners are so nice, everyone that works there is just amazing! Food is also very good at Cross Bill. The location is great, walking distance of the center and great restaurants around. The beach in front is deserted, so beautiful and nice!!! You can book this hotel without being scared of what you going to get. The ratio quality/price is good.

Room Tip: Take a room close to the beach.
