“A nice place to visit”

I LOVE this restaurant. The staff is friendly and the service is good. The food is always fresh. They are also very sensitive to food allergies, which is very important to me. It is also fairly easy to get a reservation because it is a large location.

“Fun, Even With the Work!”
Reviewed April 16, 2012

I took my spouse here for his birthday. We were led to a private booth in a small room. At first, it felt a little claustrophobic, but we enjoyed the privacy and the romantic aura created. We did the four course menu. We were pleased with the variety of choices. Had the spinach/artichoke cheese fondue to start. It was served with bread cubes, tortilla chips, vegies and granny smith apple. We both ordered the California salad, which featured gorgonzola cheese and candied nuts. For the main course, we picked the coq au vin broth and loved the variety of proteins served on the platter........lobster tail, pork, chicken, steak, shrimp and mushroom stuffed tortellini, along with potatoes/vegies/large mushrooms. For dessert, we went with the straight dark chocolate and received a nice tray of cheesecake, pound cake, marshmallows, and strawberries (and I'm sure I've forgotten something).

I'm not a big eater and was worried I'd be too stuffed to enjoy the dessert, but with being able to 'cook' and 'serve' yourself, we were able to pace ourselves and neither of us felt uncomfortable when we left (however, we didn't finish everything in the cheese course). For the quality and portions received, I think that the pricing is very fair. A unique, fun experience. We will return!

“Two thumbs up!”
Reviewed October 30, 2011

We studied the menu ahead of time and knew what we were in for as far a price and options. We did make reservations and they asked if we were celebrating anything special - which we were, our 16 year old son's birthday. The staff welcomed and sat us promptly, and gave our son a birthday card upon arrival.

We did not try any of the mixed drinks. Just a few domestic and local brews.

We ordered a la carte, and the cheese fondue was awesome!!!
Salads were excellent. Service was attentive but not intrusive.
The meats were wonderful. Be warned though, you are presented with raw meat to steep yourself in tasty broths. This makes the meal a lot of fun, but you need to be careful about cross-contamination with your skewers and plates.
The chcolate dessert fondues were excellent and a perfect ending.

For a special occasion, this is a lovely place to eat. It's also a good choice just for the cheese fondue and/or dessert fondue if you want to keep your bill down.

Bottom line, 5 of us, 6 bottled beers, 2 cheeses, 5 entrees, 2 desserts $222 = $44 per person before tip.

If you treat yourself, order carefully and you will not be disappointed by The Melting Pot!

At the end, my son was alse presented with two chocolate dripped strawberries on a plate decorated with "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate.
