Really enjoyed staying at this hotel. Clean, well appointed and comfortable room, nice restaurant and very pleasant and helpful staff. And not expensive. Excellent value for money.

A bonus is the mall with JC Penney, etc just across the car park.

After 2 previous nights staying at Holiday Inn Express locations on the way to Philly from Salt Lake City, I booked this room whilst on the road without consulting Tripadvisor, which was a mistake. First, finding it can be difficult, once you get off the turnpike. The property is older, but has been remodeled recently, but you'd be hard pressed to find evidence of any hardcore remodeling. The halls on the 2nd floor were dimly lit, and the room was small compared to the Holiday Inn Expresses, especially considering the hefty $130 per night price tag. The wallpaper needs updating. We asked the front desk if there was a microwave or fridge (for that price you'd think so!) There wasn't so they had someone bring an extra microwave up, which was very nice of them, but it was a beat up piece of junk! The middle was sunken in on one of the beds in our room. The bathroom is tiny. The walk up to the room was discouraging by itself, but seing the room pushed my wife over the edge. I used their wireless internet and checked tripadvisor, and the Country Inn and Suites was ranked #1, so we called and they had 2 rooms left on a Friday night. We told the night manager at the Holiday Inn that we didnt lke the room, and to his credit, he offered us a $59/night rate, and took us to show us some other rooms. He said he would have given us a suite at that rate if one had been available, just to keep our business. Matt was his name and he was a great manager. Any way, he didn't charge us when we didn't like the other rooms, so we went and got a room at the Country Inn and Suites and were very happy.

We spent a weekend at this hotel last weekend, August 11-13, 2007. We booked two rooms, and were there for a wedding in the area. A friend had the suite and it was very nice.

We had the king and the room was fine. We were in the tower and the bathrooms were up-to-date. Everyone was friendly and it was a positive experience.

The groom's mother hosted a breakfast in the Elyria room. It was ok.

Sunday morning we had brunch in the restaurant. It was very nice. The price was $12.95 and the selections were extensive.

This is a pet friendly hotel. Our son brought their small cock-a-poo and it worked out well. They had it caged when they left the room.

For the price you can't beat this hotel ($85 a night). It was clean and the staff were very friendly. We were there for a wedding and usually stay at 4-5 star hotels. Well, let's just say there were no 4-5 star hotels in the area so we stayed where the wedding had blocked off rooms and were pleasantly surprised. The common areas are pretty worn and dated but the room was very clean and I couldn't believe how nice everyone was from the front desk to the bartender. The beds were a little on the hard side but not so hard I couldn't sleep. I wouldn't hesitate to return.

Have stayed here numerous times each year, since 1996, as the Motorcoach Company I drive for, uses this hotel as our switching point for trips headed out to the East Coast. We have also put many, many groups in there over the years.

Price has gone up some $30-$40 per room per night.

Had breakfast there, one morning last week, and it wasn't up to the usual standard.

Still a clean, quiet property, though. Ask for a room in the Tower, if you can.

We've spent almost a month at the hotel over the last 2 years. What sets this place apart from the competition is the service. The bar is clean and (now smoke free) it has a very unique calm about it.

The Jack Daniels Ribs are my favorite for dinner and the breakfast buffet is very filling. Again, the servers are so dedicated it is hard to compare them to others. After a couple of days they all know you by name.

My daughter graduates in '08 and after that I will certainly miss the swell family times we've been afforded by the Holiday Inn Elyria. We love this place.

On our way back from Florida to Michigan, we happened into the town of Elyria. The holiday Inn looked somewhat unassuming and was fairly reasonable ($105 or so a nite). (Three in our family.) We were very pleasantly surprised. This was our 6th hotel on the trip (Sleep Inn, LaQuinta Inn, and other non-chain hotels.) At the two other chains mentioned above, when we called the desk and said we had paid for three people but there were only towels for two, they said "Come to the front desk and get more." At this Holiday Inn, there were towels for 5, the beds were the most comfortable on our trip, the bedspreads padded--more like comforters, and refreshingly warm, and each bed had three exceptional pillows. A card was left in the room, stating if we were unhappy with the pillows, to just ask and we could get less or more padding. This was the best sleep I got in 10 days; my back did not hurt in the morning. The restaurant was reasonable and had very good food (we ate there for dinner and breakfast.) Unfortunately, we missed the breakfast buffet, which ended by 9:00 a.m., as we arrived later. There is a pool, a computer and internet for anyone's use in the front desk area, a game room, and they lock the outer entrances at night. They have smoking and nonsmoking rooms. There is room service and the rooms have amenities (heat lamp, blow dryer, soaps, shampoos, and movies you can rent from your TV. The staff is very motivated to please guests and make their stay enjoyable. I would highly recommend this hotel.
