“A true gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2012

We've been to the Museum of Ceramics many times. We're very proud to say we've been members for several years. The displays are beautiful and educational, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. What a wonderful experience for young and old and what a great utilization of the building that was once our post office.

We are so glad you like the museum as much as you do. We are grateful for your interest and support. This year, our 35th anniversary year, we are thrilled to say we now have an elevator, accessible restroom, and air conditioning throughout the building.

Lovely old building and a great museum (by small town standards). The ladies at the desk were so nice! This is a must-see for anyone who has an interest in the pottery industry.

“Gem of a museum in East Liverpool”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2008

The Museum of Ceramics is a fantastic place for pottery lovers and pottery collectors. It has 2 floors of wonderful displays, mostly of ceramic ware produced in and around the East Liverpool, Ohio, area from the 1840s to the 1960s. There are some great lifelike displays in the lower level of scenes from the old pottery days in the 1800s, showing what a grueling life it must have been to work in the pottery industry. There is also a wonderful 35 minute multimedia show that gives you a good understanding of how important the pottery industry was to the Ohio River valley in the 19th century. It only costs $4, or $2 for children, and is well worth the visit.

Things have changed a bit since you wrote your kind review, but the museum remains a wonderful treasure in the area. For those reading your review, it may be helpful to know that it now only costs $6 per adult, and only $3 per student, and our video is currently only about twelve minutes long. Visitors with elementary school children will always enjoy the ongoing Scavenger Hunt available by request all the time. Thank you for your kind words, and your ongoing support of the museum in a variety of ways too.
