We have been eating here for over 5 years. The interior was recently updated, prices increased, the menu laminated, paper placemats employed, odd new square plates purchased, and food quantity decreased, with bland tastes and few spices used in the cooking. It has definitely taken a turn down. This used to be our favorite Indian restaurant in Columbus, but now it is just OK, and we only go there if we happen to be in the area. I noticed that it once was visited by mostly Indians, now it looks like a mostly Caucasion crowd who don't know any better about Indian cooking.
The food was moderately hot, and the rice was not hot at all. The entrees had minimal meat, and the vegetable dish was most inadequate, with almost no vegetable balls (Malai Kofta). Don't complain about the food, though, or you'll be met with icy stares.
The service is generally very attentive, although the female hostess is frequently snippy and unhelpful.
The old Indian restaurant atmosphere is gone now, sadly. It used to smell like India, look like India. Now, it's definitely a strip mall, vanilla place.
They usually have a coupon on the website for $5 or $10 off, but be careful because the hostess makes up her own rules about if and when they will be honored.
The lunch buffet is good for a buffet, and is fast.
Overall, I am disappointed that the restaurant has changed. Maybe it was an off night...
