“Excellent hotel!”
Reviewed July 2, 2012

This is a great hotel with beautiful rooms! The rooms have always been very clean when I have stayed in them. The hotel staff always makes you feel like you are home when you enter the door.

The tvs are amazing in the rooms as well. Hyatt is by far one of the best hotels to stay at! If you are looking for a clean, nice room either for business or vacation, then Hyatt is for you!

Staff was extremely friendly from the moment we walked in until until we walked out the door. The room was perfect for a family of five, although bathrooms very small. Breakfast was very good and had plenty of choices. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

We stayed with our softball team over the weekend of a big tournament. There were a few other travel sports teams in the hotel also, but it was never loud past 10 PM. This is a great thing in a hotel filled with kids.

Beds were comfortable, pillows fine, towels great and most importantly the place was clean. The free breakfast was excellent. The staff was great too - very friendly.

Great area, lots to do and easy walking to lots of dining or shopping.

Room Tip: High floors at the end of a hall during a busy weekend would be the best.

I had never stayed in a Hyatt property until this past weekend. I've been mostly a Mariott and Hilton property guy lately but decided to give this one a try since we had a traveler in our family with Hyatt points.

After staying at this hotel, I'll definitely be considering Hyatts for future stays. The staff was extremely friendly and went out of their way to make my family feel comfortable. I found the rooms to be quiet and comfortable. The couch and kitchen sink area were a nice touch, but one of the best features in the room was actually the TV. In addition to having a stand which rotated between the couch and bed areas (the angle was good at both), the console included a variety of ports for easy hookup of a portable DVD player, camcorder, video game console, or computer. All modern inputs were covered, from old-style analog jacks and component video to HDMI and VGA.

I couldn't find soap at first in the shower but quickly realized the hotel had liquid body soap instead, conveniently located in a pumper inside the shower alongside both shampoo and conditioner. There was also a tube of toothpaste provided free of charge. Of course, the standard amenities such as an iron and coffeemaker were also in the room.

My only small complaint involves the continental breakfast. Compared to other breakfasts I've tried lately, this one seemed a bit sparse except for the extensive selection of juice. The scrambled eggs were terrible although the other foods were good. Food was also available around the clock at the front desk.

This property was very clean and modern. It began life as an AmeriSuites but appeared to have undergone an extensive renovation after Hyatt acquired it. I would have never guessed it was originally built in 1997 had I not done the research! All of the light bulbs in my room were CFLs, another nice touch.

The surrounding area is also very nice. The hotel is across the street from the Mall at Tuttle Crossing (one of the three great retail complexes of the Columbus area) and has plenty of restaurants nearby (including Macaroni Grill, Bob Evans, and a McDonald's which could easily be mistaken for a bank). The nearby residential zones also were impressive.

I travel to Columbus often and have stayed in several locations, from standard hotels to apartment-style suites. I feel this hotel was the best overall value of any property I've used in the area and will definitely be staying here again.

Room Tip: All rooms are great. I was by the elevator and didn't hear the typical noise!

First time staying at the Hyatt Place. The room has a very large flat screen and double bedroom has sectional for extra room. Very satisfying stay, will come back.

My family stayed here for a night while visiting colleges in Ohio. The woman at the front desk was friendly and efficient. The room was large. There was a separate seating area with a couch and table so you don't have to sit on the beds. The TV was between the bedroom and seating area so people in both areas could see it. The free breakfast was very good. There were several hot items to choose from as well as the usual cereals, fruit, pastries, etc. There are restaurants nearby as well as a mall across the highway.
