“Serendipity in old Dublin”
Reviewed October 24, 2012

We stumbled upon Mezzo in the old section of Dublin and we were delightfully surprised! The service was excellent beyond compare for other restaurant at which we have visited in the area. More importantly, the food was excellent. Warm, friendly atmosphere also. No complaints and I highly recommend.

“Bit of a chain restaurant feel, but good food and service.”
Reviewed October 21, 2012

The waitstaff was unsophisticated, but young and enthusiastic. The menu wasn't as comprehensive as I would have expected for a chain-type restaurant, but good enough. Free valet parking was a bonus. I enjoyed my dinner (Chicken Milanese with ravioli).

Reviewed October 8, 2012

Apetizers were really great especially the aranchini (sp). The apetizer meatballs are also very good. The 4 of us each had a different entre and each was great. Rebecca, our server, was knowlegeable and attended to our every need.

“Excellent dining in Old Dublin”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

The atmosphere is perfect for dining with friends. I love the patio, it is phenomenal on a bright sunny day. The Lasagna was top notch and the bar staff make a great Manhattan. I would definitely go again.

“Relaxing, low pressure, but very classy and delicous dinner!”
Reviewed August 23, 2012

We were two couples out for a celebration dinner. Called for reservation about an hour before we wanted to eat and got right in. We were seated on the second floor at a very nice table overlooking Bridge Street. The restaurant is decorated with modern dark woods and marble tables and looks much bigger inside than it appears from the outside. Every table looked like it was situated well, especially those on the first and second floor patios - if the weather isn't too hot. Beware though, at the dinner hour it is hard to find a parking spot really close. You probably will have to walk or use the valet service.
The service was just right -- not too intrusive but ready as soon as you need something. Our food came out quickly and together. The braised meatball appetizer was delicous, although they only gave us 5 meatballs for 4 people. They seem to have an extensive and varied wine list and both the ladies in our group enjoyed their wine (one red, one white). There are about a dozen beer choices.
We were very pleased with the food. The pan fried eggplant was delicous as were the jumbo scallops with risotto (which was surprisingly tasty on its own, not just as a bed for the scallops.) The wild mushroom ravioli was a little too salty and chewy, but the very carefully cooked spinach on top made the dish special and cut some of the saltyness.
We enjoyed a nice conversation for a long time after we were done eating and were never made to feel pressured to leave. The bill was in line with other restaurants in Old Dublin (meaning expensive - $25-40 per person), but the environment was just right for a relaxing, low pressure, but very classy and special dinner. For a new restaurant, I have to say that they seem to have hit their stide at Mezzo -- welcome to Dublin!
