“Very enjoyable”

Quaint shops in walking distance. The people working in the shops were very friendly and seemed to really enjoy talking to their customers. I was here for the Dulcimer Days so we didn't have time to do many things but we did enjoy wine tasting and dinner at Raven's Glen Winery not far away.

“Apple Stirrin Festival”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2014

Not sure but I may have misspelled Stirrin, although this may be how they spell it. However you spell it, it is a good time, usually set in October it has many vendors and shops along the main drag. Some great Art and Crafts galore. I have stayed in a couple of the local B&B in town, it is nice to be able to walk to the festivities and then go back a relaxe for awhile. Rosce Villige is one of those towns that was put together from old homes and local building, they did do a great job. There are also Canal Boat rides on a small section of the old Erie Canal. Very nice and leasurely time to go. Being it is fall in Ohio, the temperatures are cool but refreashing and the days are usually sunny.

“Quaint Shops”

Lots of shopping in walking distance, plenty of parking. Went on a Tuesday, so not so many people. The Candy Shop is a must, very unique Leather Shop with very good prices.

“An enjoyable step back in time”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 11, 2014

Visited here last weekend. It was a beautiful day and we really enjoyed the whole experience. My 14 year old thought it was boring, but my husband and I enjoyed it. The charming little shops offered a wide range of items and the little cafe was a great stop for lunch and ice cream. We found the "characters" in each of the historic buildings to be very knowledgable and really helped make the experience complete. We spent about 3 hours total there, but you could easily spend more time if you choose to take the canal boat ride and visit the museum. If you are an AAA member, show your card for a discount on the living history tour ticket.

“weekend fun”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 4, 2014

My wife and I had traveled to amish country Ohio for the weekend for a short getaway. We found this place in a motel brochure. We both enjoy history and thought it looke interesting. We are very glad we stopped. The village is a collection of shops and historic buildings telling the story of the once boomong Erie Canal town. Enjoy a leasurely stroll through the village and have lunch or dinner at one of the restraunts. We chose The Wharehouse Steak and Stien and it was quite good. Don't miss the canal boat ride as it was very informative and relaxing.
