“Great value, location, and service”
Reviewed July 22, 2013 via mobile

We stayed here for a weekend wedding, and it was a really pleasant Experience. The location is convenient to both the Short North and German Village. Service on the whole was really good. The valet team was very quick. The front desk team was friendly and helpful. The bartenders at Thurber's know their stuff.

The facility itself is attractive, though I did find the room on the small side, particularly the closet. The bathroom was on the dark side and could use an overhead fixture. The fitness room seemed unnervingly isolated, but it was equipped nicely.

The price was very reasonable for a downtown hotel. If you're visiting the city and like to see places on foot, this is a good choice.

Outstanding service and centrally located in downtown Columbus business district (High St & Main). Has excellent (and expected) Westin service. Love, love, love the High Street Grill. Bartenders are great and the food is excellent. Recommend the NY Strip. Across the street from the Columbus Commons which has many activities as well as many other downtown Columbus attractions.

stayed here for the arnold expo.
The first room we were given was small but the toilet has a bathtub, so we decided to upgrade for a bigger room for the subsequent nights.
Room was abt 50% bigger but without bathtub in the toilet. only the "heavenly shower"
we tried breakfast as the restaurants around the hotels were closed on weekends. it was good but pricey.
service of the hotel is so so as nobody bothered to help us with our luggages.
valet was pricey but convenient. you need a car if not you have to take a taxi for about 20-30 mins to get to the nearest shopping mall.
we also made use of the arnold shuttle bus to get to the expo.
if we could get rooms at the hotels nearer to the expo, we will not stay here next year!

We appreciate the sincere feedback on our property. I apologize for the inconveniences and will address those with the departments involved. Unfortunately, we cannot alter what is in the neighborhood in terms of shopping but look forward to the completion of Columbus Commons. If you have not yet had an opportunity to visit German Village or the Short North District, both areas offer unique shopping, boutiques, and art studios.

The Westin Columbus was the location for our wedding two weeks ago and the service was outstanding. We had our ceremony and reception there and it felt personal and private, just like we wanted. The staff was very helpful and clear about what we can expect. The senior events manager was also very professional. Will definitly use again!

I grew up in Columbus, Ohio - but have lived in Los Angeles, California for the past 7 years. I had no idea where I was going to get married ...but the moment I stepped foot in the Westin - I knew this was it. We were greeted with the kindest of welcomes from the staff before we even booked the Westin as our wedding location. You can tell the staff is happy to be there...bc its shows on their faces.

I had to plan a wedding for around 200 people - coming from all over the country - from California. That is not the easiest of tasks but WOW did the Westin make it happen. I worked with the amazing Linsey Bruce who is the wedding extraordinaire at the Westin Columbus. She had so many good ideas. She was not someone who wanted to just take our money - do the cookie cutter wedding - and be done with us. She really wanted the wedding day to be special and be about us. She even helped us cut our floral bill in HALF. She offered us beautiful table vases and it was stunning. Have you ever heard of a wedding planner who helps you save money? Crazy right? That is the point I'm trying to make ... everyone at the Westin was like that. SO HELPFUL!

We had some drama a few days before the wedding...my now husband was held up at gunpoint and most of his/our belongings were stolen. (Weddings suit, rings, passports) When we finally got to the Westin - the entire staff knew what happened and treated us like royalty. Not only did EVERYONE on the staff sign a card - they gave my husbands family a gift card for a free weekend stay for everything they had just endured with the mugging.

I don't feel like i need to mention how stunning the Westin is...Just look at the photos. You would be crazy not to trust this hotel to plan your wedding. It was the best 48 hours of our lives!

Room Tip: Make sure for the wedding/bridal party that you reserve a room!

I arrived at this hotel and went to check in, I learned that because I used Hotwire I was a second rate customer, My son and I went to Columbus for a Fencing tournament and had a great time in Columbus but are Hotel was terrible, They said they would only guarantee a room since I booked on Hotwire even though I booked a room with two Queen beds, what I got was a closet, The room had only 1 queen bed no desk or chairs to sit in,The manager was rude and not at all helpful.
I asked if they had anything bigger they said they only had single rooms. They also charged 10:00 a day for Internet and they offered parking for 22 dollars a day, their was a parking garage right beside the place for 12:00 dollars a day I will not stay at a Westin again

Room Tip: book somewhere else if you want a good room with customer service

Tim, I sorry and disappointed to hear of your experience. We take personal experiences very seriously. We as a property, and Westin as a brand, pride ourselves on offering our guests a personalized lifestyle experience. When we fall short, it is disappointing. Please feel free to reach out to me directly to discuss further. In the meantime, I do hope that you will give our brand another opportunity in your future travels.

This is one of those older midwest hotels that has that vibe with some charm. This is a smaller hotel so not as grand as some of the other hotels of the era (Palmer House, Pfister, Drake). Just know the rooms will be a little smaller than a newer hotel. It had a renovation in 2008 and carpeting, paint on woodwork, mattressses on our floor are coming due for a refresh.
Staff ( Kate O., in particular) were very accomodating and returned pre-stay emails promptly. The breakfast in restaurant was good and not overpriced. The work out room is in the basement so no views but a lot of equipment in good condition (4 treadmills, one elliptical, 2 bikes, universal gym, free weights). We did not bring a car but for those doing so you might consider parking in the public garage just across the street as a cheaper option. It is on HIGH ST and sort of midway between Italian Town and the convention Center to the north and Brewery district and Germantown to the South. Both are walkable at 1-1.5 miles or a +/- $ 8 cab ride (depending on traffic).

Room Tip: You'll likely be relegated to a single bed room. seems the two bed rooms are reserved for Starwo...
