“Room looked brand new! Loved it!”
Reviewed April 14, 2011

Stayed in Residence Inn Downtown Columbus March 24-27th while in town on a business trip.

Loved the suite. The room looked brand new. The kitchenette was great with full sized refrigerator, stove top and microwave.

The hotel is a renovation of a former bank building. Very cool lobby. Breakfast area is in the safe. Nice workout room.

Plenty of dining nearby, although space for restaurant in lobby is vacant.

Parking is valet only and was always available when needed (even at 6am).

Only negative was the sound of the doors to the adjacent suites. Very heavy doors, so loud when guests close the doors (assume they are fire doors).

I was looking for somewhere downtown that was clean and quiet. This hotel is that and more! The room was nicely decorated and larger than I expected. We had a corner room on the 13th floor and we had nice downtown views. The only negative is that there weren't any open restaurants within walking distance on a Sunday morning, but that is hardly the fault of the hotel!

We were actually booked at another hotel, but got 'bumped' because of over-booking... and our travel co. put us in the Residence Inn instead. It was still within walking distance of the Convention Center. The staff was very accomodating with all of our needs, holding luggage until our departure. We were amazed at the awesome Continental breakfast (which was not offered at the other hotel). Next year, I'll make my own reservations for the Conference, and I'll be staying at the Residence Inn. The room was spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. A great value for your dollar. The only thing that could be improved on, is the valet parking... a bit slow retrieving our vehicle.

Hi Callie,

Unfortunately, there are times when guests in the hotel unexpectedly extend their reservations and other guests have to be relocated…lucky for us you came here! It’s great to know you had a great experience and we can’t wait to see you again next year.

Take care,

Great Hotel and GreatvRooms!

The thing that i disliked was the lack of parking options.Valet was $10 one time fee or $20.00 all day.

You could also park in car garages for about $10.00 just make sure you have a lot of cash on hand.

You can also park on the street but you have to pay the meters and run the chance of being towed.

We're talking The State of Ohio here, there in need of some extra dough. If you arerenti g a car, be sure to get Ohio plates!

The location was great and staff was welcoming and helpful; but what I really loved was the room itself. Extraordinarily comfortable, spacious, well-decorated, and more luxurious than I was expecting. I was ready to move in! The view wasn't great, but it's a downtown hotel; buildings are close together, that's the way it is. We slept late and missed breakfast, but there were other good dining options nearby. I only wish I could have stayed longer!

This is an interesting old bank building, turned hotel. A little odd to have a wide open lobby not being used, but Marriott has obviously tried to be creative with the decor and it's tastefully done. Hotel is only 3 yrs old. Nice downtown location so you can walk to the Palace, Capitol, etc. theaters. Also easy to jump on freeways from there.
Not the best bed (taco bed), but the front desk was glad to know that and said they'd make note of it so it could be corrected.
We had a loud party staying on our floor. Kept us up half the night. The front desk gave us half off our second night. Great service, as always, at a Marriott.
Parking not worth the price. You can pay $5/day at a lot just behind the hotel.

Beautifully decorated rooms include a full kitchenette, with a stainless fridge and dishwasher, granite counters, nice living-room seating area. Very quiet - never heard any neighbors while I was in my room. The staff are extremely helpful. Great location for convention goers. Short walk to the Greater Columbus Convention Center on High St. Cab ride is between $5 and $6, which we did take advantage of because the sidewalks on High St. were icy. Overall, this is a very nice place to stay for the money!
