Nothing can compare to actually being inside during a game, but just driving around the perimeter, one can feel the power emanating from this place. I've only ever been to two games, but something about driving around the 'shoe gave me a wave of nostalgia like nothing else we did on our visit back to OH last week. OH - IO!!

If you're a Buckeye fan - really even a college football fan - it's worth your time if you're in the OSU area to drive by the "Horseshoe," especially if you've never seen it. With 100,000 seats (and with the planned addition of 2,500 more seats in the south stands), it will end up being the third largest college football stadium in the country. But that's not why you stop to visit, getting out of your car to peek through the iron railings. You stop to pause and reflect on all of the glorious football history that has take place here over the years. Ever hear of Woody Hayes? Eddie George? The list goes on forever. Since OSU will probably win the national championship game in 2014 under Coach Urban Meyer, you might as well stop for a few minutes and pay your respects at this five-star attraction.

Pretty campus, large, clean. Normally one can go inside the stadium but this day it was under renovation so we couldn't go in, but we were glad to be walking on campus, nevertheless.

There will be a day when I sit down with my grandchildren and tell them of the legandary college football players I saw play here during the 1990s and 2000s, just as my father and grandfather told me stories of the legendary players of OSU's past. The Shoe is is to the football world as Mt. Olympus is to the Greek Gods.
