Visited this restaurant/bar while in town on business. Normally we limit ourselves to 1 visit per restaurant in order to experience as much as we can, but this place was so good we went back a second night. It is located on an interesting street south of the Ohio State University campus so parking may be difficult to find, but it is worth it.
The bar has a great selection of beers to please even the pickiest of palates, and the selection of distilled spirits is better than many bars I have been to. Prices are about even with any other bar in a similar location serving craft beers.
The beer is very good, but you come here for the food! Wild creations built upon a foundation of the classic grilled cheese. On my first visit I ordered the "Old Grandad's Meatloaf" -- A grilled cheese with a slice of homemade meatloaf, hickory bacon, bourbon tomato jam, BBQ potato chips, crisp lettuce, fresh tomato & muenster. The second trip, I tried the "Monte Cristo" -- A crispy battered & deep-fried grilled cheese with honey ham, smoked turkey, swiss, american, with a cup of mixed berry preserves for dipping.
The food was delicious! One word of caution: The sandwich is so large I could only eat half of it in one sitting. A number of people at the table were trading halves to try other items, and EVERYBODY loved what they ate.
If you are passing through Columbus, OH I highly recommend you try this place!
