We went to Barrel 44 after dinner nearby. I had never seen a 'flight' of whiskey for tasting before, like many bars and restaurants have wine 'flights'. The bartender was very knowledgeable, the array of whiskeys was exceptional, the pour was generous. Although I was there to sample American whiskey, the assortment of single malt whisky was broader than I'm used to seeing as well. I was further impressed that as I described various whiskey I enjoy, the bartender was able to both make suggestions and comment on what she thought I would think of the whiskey I was tasting. Finally, related to the available of tasting flights, it was wonderful to be able to try a whiskey for $5 for the (ample) pour rather than spending apx $40 for a bottle.
One final word, on a Saturday night, it was a noisy bar. As it should be.
