“Beautiful murals”
Reviewed September 29, 2013

Building itself is not very different from some other public buildings. However, several courtrooms are beautifully painted, with murals covering walls and ceilings. They represent history of Columbus, Ohio and some important events. We had a chance to hear explanations for these murals, which helped us to better understand their meaning.

“A MUST Tour when coming to Columbus”
Reviewed July 18, 2012

The Ohio Judicial Center, home to the Ohio Supreme Court, was built during the great depression as Ohio's first state government building. It is one of the finest examples of Art Deco outside of NYC.

The interior walls of the public rooms on the ground and first floors are painted with floor-to-ceiling murals depicting the history of Ohio from prehistoric times up to March 1933, when the building opened as the Ohio Departments Building

I am a volunteer tour guide. We just celebrated our 100,000th tour visitor since the building opened as the Ohio Judicial Center in 2004.

Call a few days ahead for a tour. The building is open to the public weekdays from 8AM to 5PM
