This is such a fun park to explore. My only regret is that the book store wasn't open. I was counting on purchasing a post card or something with the original painting on it so I could let the kids compare the topiaries with the painting. The garden does have photocopied line drawings of the painting so that worked out just fine (and provided coloring pages for in the car).

I stopped by the Topiary Garden while touring Columbus. I was really looking forward to seeing how it interpreted Georges Seurat's famous painting. While they seem to have done a good job, it looks like the park is not being very well maintained these days. Many of the topiary just have the wires left with no plants, as is indicative of some of the boaters and the women's umbrellas. Perhaps if people were made to pay to visit it would have a budget for maintenance? Still, if I am ever in Columbus again, I may stop by to see if they have had the chance to work on it. For now, it makes a good stop just to say you have seen it!

Very neat park. Needs help to keep it alive. Some plants need sprucing up. Worth the stop if you are already downtown.

Visiting Columbus on a holiday with the family and remember hearing about this place. The sculptures are just wire frames with plants covering them. Alot of them had brown patches and looked rather ragged. Sort of saw what they were trying to show but they just didn't quite pull it off. Would have been nice it they displayed a copy of the painting they were apparently trying to recreat. Don't waste your time.

This is a MUST when I have visitors in Columbus, OH. It is a topiary interpretation of
George Seurat’s famous painting, "A Sunday Afternoon on the Isle of La Grande Jatte."
I usually don't tell my visitors where we are going and just let them be amazed as they behold the garden for the first time.
