“Exceptional hotel in an ideal location!”
Reviewed July 7, 2010

This hotel is very close to the freeway (270), so convenient to travelers or those visiting Columbus. But the location is on the edge of Easton Mall, so once you park you have a wide selection of restaurants, upscale shopping, and movies within walking distance. There is even a whole foods grocery down the block for easy access to food.
The remodeled lobby is very nice with an inviting bar area. The rooms are clean and large. There is a very nice pool area with hot tub, and an outdoor area with a gas firepit that was very nice to sit around.
The hotel staff was very nice and efficient. We even bought a bottle of wine at whole foods and the bar area uncorked it for us and provided glasses at no charge!
Easton Mall is a fantastic pedestrian mall for window shopping and a wide choice of restaurants are available, in all price ranges and cuisine.

I agree with most of the reviewers on this site. The location is great...walk to just about everything one would need. Across the street from Trader Joes...

I want to mention the breakfast service...it was very good and not the usual buffett. Not sure how parents of young children would like not having a buffett. The person who was taking orders, Chris Pope, really made everyone feel welcome.

For business or pleasure, this is a very good hotel.

I often travel to Columbus but just started staying in Easton. A quick trip from the airport and just off the highway it is a great business person destination. Clean rooms, friendly service, and a short walk to the Irish pub, among many other restaurants makes it an easy destination for ther busy traveler. Plu sTrader Joes is on the other side of the parking lot....

I've stayed at this Courtyard on at least two different occasions - most recently for two nights in July, 2009. This is a very nice Courtyard with a slightly more upscale lobby, lounge, and restaurant than usual Courtyard - extra touches include a supply of full size umbrellas at the main entrance for rainy days, attractive clear glass iced water dispenser with lemon slices available in the lobby - tasted very good.

LOCATION: Excellent for Easton. You are steps from all that Easton has to offer.
AIRPORT SHUTTLE: Yes, but it may take 10-15 minutes to arrive at the airport. It did, however, arrive when promised and the shuttle was very clean and the driver very courteous. Limited service times so check with the hotel before you arrive. IMPORTANT: You need to schedule the shuttle for your return trip to the airport the day before your departure. Call an hour or two before the shuttle is scheduled to take you back to the airport to confirm. I scheduled my shuttle the day before, but did not call to confirm the morning of my departure. There was a mix-up so the van was not available. No problem! - see my remarks on service in the next section.

SERVICE: Uniformly excellent. Everyone was just great and very helpful. As I said above, there was a schedule mix-up with the shuttle to the airport but they called and paid for a cab right away! Nice job and greatly appreciated.

ROOM: Very nice, immaculate, quiet, excellent bed, flat screen tv, powerful a/c, etc. The bathroom was especially clean. If you can, get a view overlooking Easton. The view out the back of the hotel is ok, though. You're looking over part of Easton and fields and offices in the distance.

BREAKFAST: Excellent and only $8.95 for cooked-to-order eggs and omelets, waffles, fruit, yogurt, bagels, english muffins, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, etc. etc.

INTERNET ACCESS: It is complimentary and it works very well - fast and no problems.

MARKET: There is a small market where you can buy snacks 24 hrs

BAR: In the evening for limited hours, there is a nice bar and very attractive and comfortable lounge area where you can relax - nice touch.

OVERALL: Excellent. I've paid much more at other hotels in Easton and there was not much difference. I will definitely return to the Courtyard Easton for future business trips. Excellent hotel, excellent value.

Courtyard Marriott—Columbus

I had high hopes for this hotel experience.
It’s right at Easton Town Center, which is why I decided on it in the first place. There are 2 other hotels at Easton—Hilton and Residence Inn. I did not choose the former because it was quite a bit more expensive and I didn’t choose the later because it did not offer king sized beds.

The Courtyard was clean, at Easton for shopping and had friendly enough personnel but that is about all I can say positively about this property.

My list of dislikes follows—the bed was one of the most uncomfortable beds that I have ever slept in. It was very firm. I am used to a pillow top and even with 2 Tylenol PM—
I could not get comfortable. Also the room is rectangular with the head of the bed being on one end and the TV being on the side. It’s near impossible to sit in bed and watch television without getting a neck and back ache. It’s a very odd placement for the TV.
There is no mini bar, make up mirror, or safe for valuables. I wish that hotel chains would realize that women travel too! We need makeup mirrors, mini frigs for leftovers and safes for jewelry etc.
The room had a very ugly décor; it was masculine and felt cheap.
Instead of central air conditioning there is a wall mounted unit that was extremely loud. In order to stay cool it had to run all night…loudly!
Even though we are considered Marriott Gold Elite, there are no perks given at this hotel—not even bottled water which was in the room offered at 3.50 each!!!
The in-room coffee was horrible--some off brand.
They offered a very small amount of generic bath products—no lotion, q-tips, cotton balls, and the towels were cheap and scratchy. I was surprised by the lack of attention given to the bathroom.
And to top it all off—after a day of shopping at Easton I came back to an unclean room—I was looking forward to a short nap and maybe reading a little only to see that housekeeping hadn’t come yet. Finally by 4:00 pm the room was clean.
I did not report any of this to the hotel staff—I am not a complaining or rude customer. I would rather share these things with others and save them some misery.
Next time we will pay a little more and stay at the Hilton where I hear they have in room Starbucks coffee!

Pros

-Free Internet in room and in lobby
-Spacious clean rooms
-Pretty comfy bed
-Staff very friendly and helpful
-Small yet nice clean work out room with Life Fitness Elliptical
-Great location for shopping and restaurants (Cheesecake Factory/PF Changs)
-Lifetime Health Club within walking distance (For hotel guests only $10)

Cons
-Continental breakfast not included
-Thin walls, we could hear a person yawn or cough to give you an idea. We did have an adjoining room so maybe that added to it. I always forget to ask.
