Owner description: Columbus's version of New York's artsy Soho district, this historic urban neighborhood is filled with boutiques, art galleries, coffee houses, restaurants and theaters.

If the urban pulse might offend you in some manner, stick with Easton shopping center. If you want to see Columbus as a city, this is the place. Loads of food and entertainment and the best people watching there is. Head up one side of High Street then down the other to pick your restaurant, and stop for a few drinks on the way. Food ranges from White Castle to Hyde Park Steakhouse, so if that doesn't cover the gamut, you're in the wrong place. Outdoor patio at MoJo Lounge on the Cap is the best for viewing the passers-by. BTW, parking is painful, so consider some other mode of transport if possible.

In the short north you find a lot of nice restaurants and art galleries. The first Saturday every month the Gallery hop takes place. Then, this disctrict is crowded with people that enjoy themselves. The atmosphere is relaxed and very nice. Short North is very much worth a visit.

We walked around short north on a Saturday afternoon girls weekend and it US such a great area. They need this in Cleveland! They have great trendy shops and restaurants. We had dinner in this area that night, and went out dancing after. There were seven if us all celebrating our longlived friendships and thus area was made for us!

The shops are unique and worth a visit. I especially enjoyed the ReView, which was full of gently used home furnishings.
