“Convenient & Clean”
Reviewed September 19, 2011

First of all, there aren't any fancy boutique hotels in Columbus. None. I have searched high and low and any hotel that claims to be a boutique hotel has crummy/old decor and has plenty of negative reviews. Upon extensive research, I (finally) stumbled upon this place which plenty of positive reviews and since it's a new(er) property, was able to assume that the decor would be above sub-par and rooms aren't infested with bedbugs.

The location isn't great but it's good enough. Fairly close to Grandview, OSU and Arena district- so depending on what you're in town for, it's pretty convenient. We arrived much earlier than check-in time and the person at the desk was able to accommodate our request for early-check-in (thank goodness since we flew a red eye with 2 layovers). We stayed for 2 nights on comfortable beds which a nice-sized flat screen TV to watch while I nursed my hangovers on 2 consecutive days. There's a shuttle that can take you places within a 3-mile radius to the hotel which was extremely convenient for going out- however keep in mind the service stops at 9pm (or 10, I forget). I just called to the desk in the morning to inform them that I needed a ride later in the day to a bar in grandview. The continental breakfast was ok- nothing fantastic. We ended up ordering off the hot breakfast menu both days since we needed something more hearty. The coffee with free breakfast was AWFUL, thank goodness they offer starbucks for a fee. The places was definitely clean so I was comfortable sleeping in the beds, with that in mind plus good staff, convenience to downtown, I would recommend staying here.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher end room, away from elevators. You might end up getting a good view of downtown (pl...

Very clean rooms. Location is close to downtown and convenient, seems very safe. The hotel itself is located in a business plaza with 2 restaurants and a gym, but nothing else is within walking distance. Free parking in a garage and free continental breakfast (which, to be honest, is mediocre) The employees were all very nice and helpful. Rooms were clean, well stocked. The indoor pool was a bit on the cold side and a extremely chlorinated-kids came out with bright red eyes. Overall a great choice and we would stay here again.

We arrived early for a concert in the city, no problem with early check in. Room was clean, tidy, well laid out. Restaurant conveniently across the street with some good food before a night of fun. Thank goodness it is self parking and no charge! A plus for any city. Returning home from concert we were a little hungry and the desk clerk gave us a pizza menu and got a pizza delivered in the wee hours of the morning. The hotel also has all sorts of food near the front desk for midnight munchers. Will stay again next time in town.

Stayed here in late May 2011. Very nice hotel overall. Arrived late at night and front desk staff was friendly and got checked right in. Room was nice although the overall fit and finish seemed done by a construction company that rushed it.

There is a restaurant and bar right next door that you can walk to that had great food. Not much else as far as restaurants in the immediate area though.

Parking was free in the multi-story garage adjacent.

Stayed at the Hyatt Place for a two-day business meeting. It's brand new, and very nice inside. Breakfast is free, wi-fi is free, and there is free HBO in the rooms! The rooms are very spacious, with a large couch, large flat screen and good-sized bathroom. There is a nice workout room and pool, too! Right next to the hotel is a great OSU-themed restaurant, with good food and drinks. There is also a deli and a massage place right there, and both were great! There is also a small bar which serves Starbucks and scones in the am, and drinks in the pm. Nice lobby too!

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the elevator and you might get a nice view of OSU and downtown!

We stayed at the Hyatt Place for the first time in the fall after attending an Ohio State football game. We loved the size of the room for our family, appreciated the pleasant front desk, and the easy in and out parking. Because of this great experience, we chose this again for our son's Ohio State graduation. It's a very convenient location and we will definitely stay here again when we attend games, visit relatives, or just want to enjoy a Columbus event.

I'm a HHonors diamond member and stayed here instead of a Hilton property due to my credit card company sending me a free night coupon. We liked the hotel a lot - clean facility, comfortable beds, huge TV, upscale gym equipment, fast internet and free parking. You can get into the Short North or Downtown via a direct road in <3 minutes and avoid paying overnight parking charges at a downtown hotel. If you're in town to relax, schedule a massage @ Massage Envy in the same shopping center...wish we had done that.

Great hotel!

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony - adds a nice flare to the room
